| 07/18/2003 09:51:39 AM | Red and Greenby JeanComment: Jean, pardon my asking, but, what is this? It looks like silk or satin covered buttons on a piece of the same fabric used to cover them. But I'm probably way off here, because, then, what are all the little tiny round things?. It's not bubbles, but it almost looks like it's floating in something. I'm just very curious by nature :)
BTW - it's a very nice picture, I love the colours! And congratulations on winning picture of the day at PhotoNuts with this (was it yesterday?).

| 07/13/2003 11:52:15 AM | High-speed motion in Blue and Yellowby SharQComment: FROM THE CRITIQUE CLUB
Hello,
I like this picture very much, the colours, shapes, the crop, everything is very beautiful. But, like a couple of your commenters below, I am not making the connection to "Speed", unless I think of speed as movement, and you are depicting the camera's movement here.
It is a beautiful picture though. The yellows, oranges and blues are very clean, as is the movement. Technically I can find no fault with it.
As a composition it is very interesting, especially on second (or third ...) look. At first I think the reaction is, "Oh, just another long exposure." But on looking again, the building to the right becomes visible, the dark sky to the left. After that I start to see shapes, and the picture becomes a sexy abstract, at times an almost scary abstract. To the right there's a woman, bending backwards a little, as if she's trying to get away from something, possibly the big thing in the middle. The middle also looks like a being, but I can't tell the gender, and it's a frightening being. But I'm letting my imagination get away here.
Anyway. I like this picture. I think it didn't do better in the challenge because it doesn't come out and hit you, "THIS IS SPEED!!!". Your picture, though beautiful, is out of the norm. I like a lot of your pictures - you have quite a style!
