Withoutby kiwinessComment: She's a wondeful model. Her face has a lot of character, and yet it is "model beautiful".
I like this image very much. I like the repeating lines: her silhouette repeated in the line of the hair over the eye; the back of the head repeated in the shoulders and hinted at with the top of her hips. I also very much like the brown/black colour combination, the colours suit this girl beautifully. I like the centred subject placement in this case - it works. I like it that the model is not neatimaged to death, if there's any noise reduction, it's very subtle; I find the slight mottling in the skin of the arm very "human", goes well with the "without" title.
One thing I wonder about is the silver insteps of the shoes - they don't quite go along with the image, then again, if the insteps were black or white or gold maybe it would be too homogeneous.
As far as DPC and scores goes, I imagine the reason it didn't score higher is that the connection to footware is not "in your face".

Water Challenge - oskar's Water & Iceby ShutterPugComment: Nice. It does have a very similar look to oskar's ribbon winning entry - but yours is not as smooth and there's no foreground in yours. Overall, your image is rather more centered than oskar's, which gives it a feeling of static that is somewhat different than the feel in oskar's image. Good work though.
But you could have cloned out the dustbunnies :) |

Libera Nosby jmsetzlerComment: Wow, this is absolutely beautiful! So smooth, so elegant - you did a beautiful job with this. I don't know what else to say, I am trying to think that it might be inspired by my own painting with light entry from a couple weeks ago, the "feeling" of the image reminds of it (and if I'm wrong, please forgive my ego). But this is different. Anyway. Congratulations on a beautiful image. |

Midnight Jugglerby viajeroComment: I like the movement of the hands/juggling balls contrasted to the total stillness of the face. Very nice. |
