impression sunsetby bvlindalouComment: IMO, one of the best in the challenge. Pure abstract, and yet, very communicative. It makes me think of being by a lake, in a rather desert place, sitting on a rock somewhere looking down on the land as the sun sets. Love it! ~10 |

Greenby tgrumbleyComment: It's a beautiful shade of green, but as an image there isn't much here to hold my attention. ~4 |

Sailing the Sepia Seasby JovanComment: IMO, it might have been wise to close in further (get even closer). There's too much of it here. I like the stripiness. ~5 |

Abstract macroby william88Comment: Could this be oil on water? Very spacey looking. Beautiful colours. I sort of like it, but I also find the extreme smoothness almost too much. ~6 |

Hanya Terrainby geneward2Comment: Nice closeup. I wonder if getting even closer, focusing on just the three secions with swirls (without the edge at the right, and the eye like thing at the bottom left, would work. The light is a bit glary, maybe softening it would work? ~5 |

Fantasy in Blue by wildirisComment: A glass paperweight or other similar glass object? The title suits the image perfectly. I wonder if adjusting the colours to just a tad brighter would work here. Looks almost reptilian in nature. ~7 |

Embraceby birkinComment: He, he, looks like dracula roses! Beautiful shapes. The colours, to my eyes, are not the most pleasing, although they sort of work for this shot. ~8 |

No Hints Hereby mike_dComment: Gold and silver on blue - reminds me of graduation. Something metal, of course, but what? No clue. Good presentation though, albeit maybe a bit static, centred as it is. ~7 |

spots before my eyesby rlancasterComment: The ultimate abstract: everything out of focus :) An observation, it looks from the shapes that you didn't use a fully open lens? Why? If everything is to be out of focus, and all you want is colour shapes, why wouldn't you use your bigges aperture on the lens? Then again, maybe I'm wrong and you did.
As for the picture, it doesn't really work for me, because even though the colours are attractive in a subdued way, there isn't much to hold me here - even if I squint my eyes and look at it, it still is simply some colours. That's not bad by itself, but there needs to be something more, something that speaks to the viewer, not something in focus, but something that connects better. If that makes sense. ~5 |
