| 09/09/2007 02:57:15 PM | Above Adversityby kirbicComment: Beautiful, clear image, the clarity is quite exceptional. It's a great picture for a poster, and yet, as it is, IMVHO it's not quite working as a motivational poster. The message is not particularily clear. The placement of the message, almost on top of the balloon, seems off somehow (plus the shadow of the last "y" is cut off). I do like the shadow lettering though, it gives the sky a sense of depth. Maybe it just looks a bit crowded overall to me. Great picture though. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 09/09/2007 02:02:06 AM | Arabian Beautyby loriprophotoComment: It's very interesting to read posthumous comment that this image gives him a nostalgic feeling, because earlier today, as I was looking at the picture, I was thinking pretty much the same thing: a colourful, clear, fun picture puzzle that I think I either had or saw a long time ago, I think it was one of those where there were cubes with pictures on all sides, and you had to match up the cubes so you got the whole pictures, 6 of them in all. It's curious how the picture has an "old" feel to it of sorts, without looking old at all.
It is beautiful how you got everything so clear in this image, the sky, the grass, the horse. I like the shadow, it's so small compared to the horse. The horse looks so healthy, its coat is so shiny and the colour is just beautiful. | Photographer found comment helpful. |

| 09/08/2007 12:39:55 PM | she's leaving home ...by ursulaComment: Originally posted by Bear_Music: I'd never have pegged this as yours, Ursula. It's very well done, and I really appreciate the detailed notes on how you organized it. But you mention putting in the skyline in two different steps, so I am wondering if it's a typo in step 2?
Congrats on top-20! |
No, it's not a typo, but it's a poorly explained process. I added 2 skylines, one (the second) is the Seattle skyline, with the buildings and all that. The other (the first) is a skyline sans buildings, just sky and clouds, that I overlated on the sand to intensify the meagre reflection there. It probably should have been called something other than "skyline", more like, "added clouds".
Thanks for pointing this out :) |

I like the lines going in different directions, and the feel of the image, like caught but free. | Photographer found comment helpful. |

PS: I hope it's a leaf :))) Message edited by author 2007-09-07 00:55:22. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
