DSC_7322-01.JPGby wavelengthComment: my kind of picture! I love the texture of the little stones, which complements the round puddle, but which contrasts with the straight-edged shapes in the reflection... and all with pleasing variations of the same color. That leaf in the center might be a problem, though. It demands too much attention! |

DSC_7520.jpgby wavelengthComment: Nice. Perfect. I love when a portrait subject gets "lost" inside the composition (that's why it's *good* that her face is not brightly lit). DOF turns a potentially distracting background into some vague pleasing shapes. |

Creepby NiteseadComment: sorry, but when my monitor was "correctly" calibrated I made a picture too dark for DPC and got blasted, so now I make my monitor too dark! But I gave you a 7 based on the bottom shape alone... |

Urban Artby renegade1966Comment: I agree with Melethia. You'll also get more interesting shadows at another time of day. And here I am being a focus nazi: this would be better in sharper focus, although maybe at a different time of day the softness would be a nice effect. It's good to get things as focused as possible, though, when you take the shot. You can always make things softer later, but you can't make things more focused! |

I Can Block the Sun with my Handby xianartComment: I feel like I am caught in the middle of a faint. I have no idea where I am, but it's somewhere very important. It is somewhere between feeling and meaning. The lines of perspective are a hand opening up to take me to an interior place I've never been, and I see myself as a child, trying not to see, and I see this frightful hand upon my own face, touching its pinky against my own hand. I am in pajamas that are falling open, utterly vulnerable, slipping into what I hope is the familiar world of sleep... but this passageway is utterly unfamiliar. I wonder if that is my whole life being drawn in the multitude of shadows, charcoal sketches of the images and incidents of my life. I am trapped in the moment before you pull your hand away and everything is obliterated by the sun into a monolithic world of white. 10 |

Autumn Mistby riotComment: I enjoy how this splits into sections with no overlap, and I like the fog border between two sections. 7 |

Flowby stare_at_the_sunComment: I like the big simple shapes contrasting with the dynamism of the waterflow. 7 |
