Fallingby PegasusComment: This reminds me of the Little Prince movie, for some reason. I guess it's the 70's era child-fantasy feeling. You evoke it very well. I (almost) always like being put it into another world. 9 |

Calvaryby timfythetooComment: 10 for sheer cojones, and actually it's a good picture, too. It would make a good ikon. |

Kung Fu Woodyby william88Comment: You have perfectly recreated the spirit not of reality but of an insane Kung Fu movie direct from Hong Kong, which is much more interesting. 10 |

lust for emotionby gorefiendComment: And finally the last argument for the continued existence of humanity was brought up before the Robot Council: emotion. If humans were to die out, then emotion would die with it. "Nonsense," said the District Attornoid, and presented as evidence this photograph, irrefutable proof that emotion exists in a world of pure symbols, pure iconography. There is nothing so emotional as the woodie who lusts for emotion within himself. Unable to fashion any retort, the humans' Defenderbot rests his case. 10 |

Warm October Sun on The New Amsterdamby hotpastaComment: For me what sets this apart from similar pictures is how dizzying it is. There seems to be three-point perspective on that building, creating a warping effect. The vertigo is enhanced by the strong shadows and dark areas. Finally, you have very interesting clouds, which is essential because all the lines are leading the eye up there. It's kind of like a city in a fishbowl, but I am inside the fishbowl and as small as a goldfish. It's unsettling, in a way that I like to be unsettled. As someone who's spent plenty of time in NYC, you've captured something essential about it. |

Swan Songby pidgeComment: I think this would work better at a bigger size. As it is, I can't tell what these things are that are hanging off your shoulders, and it distracts. I also think to convey your idea of a swan song, of walking away for the final time, you should be further down the road. By being at the start of the road, it seems more like you're at the start of your journey. I gave you a 6 because it's a well executed, good looking photograph with a good composition. The reasons above relate to why I didn't score it higher. |
