Mourningby perotyComment: I love the *idea* of this, mourning as a the blinding light of loss, I just wish the few details that do remain contributed better. But still a 7 for the poetry. |

The Ties That Bindby NstiG8trComment: ah, an excellent idea to have the lines of the tiles radiating out of his foot. The fourth compass direction is the direction of love proceeding two ways between tier and tieee. Shadows add some complexity to the composition, in a good way. |

The A.M. Ritualby sherpetComment: Hi, sherpet. This picture has a lot of meaning for me. I use the exact same mask and tubing, though the machine is probably different. I have a CPAP machine, and for me it is the "P.M. Ritual". I keep this mask on all night so that I can breathe regularly (I have sleep apnea). I think it's a great idea to do a self-portrait with the mask on. A big part of who we are is what we go through. |

Start me off with twoby jaysonmcComment: love the simple composition and the different textures and colors, and how the glass sometimes continues the composition and sometimes breaks it up. |

Now Thenby raishComment: at first I thought he was holding a stopwatch, and he was timing his watch... which is an amusing idea. But it really doesn't look like a stopwatch. Perhaps it is some romantic keepsake. So he looks at his watch and it says "now" and he looks at the souvenir and it says "then". Either way, I like it. 8 |

"Parting is such sweet sorrow"by ssanComment: I like the silhouetting and the complimentary shapes. They both lean away from each other. The man is such a perfect icon for sorrow. One wonders where the sweetness is, BUT one wonders where the sweetness is in Shakespeare's original version as well. And I'll tell you where it is: it exists in the beauty of the sorrow. |
