I'm on an anti-HDR kick right now, but this a cool shot. I wasn't thinking about how the HDR makes this look like an illustration from the 60s. Another example of a DPC voter not giving a photo enough thought! (luckily, most of the other voters outsmarted me)

I couldn't believe how many black backgrounds were in this challenge. I don't have any memories with black backgrounds, so I was a little tough on them, mea culpa. But the toy itself is wonderful and well-lit.

I can't believe this scored under 5. I admit I'm not crazy about shots of things, but as thing-shots go, this is a good one. The composition has some energy, one can imagine the horse actually running into the frame. The lighting is warm and three-dimensional. There is a glow of child-worship about it.

Uh-oh, I just convinced myself that I underrated this picture, too.

I am generally *not* a fan of pictures of disease or death, but this photo has such an elegance to it. You really did make it beautiful, which is why it disturbed me.
