 When I was three or four yrs. old, I had a friend named, Vickie, who was a couple yrs. older than me. I remember laying on the floor on a Saturday morning watching cartoons and reading a book with the ABC's. I know it was a Saturday because back in those days, cartoons were only broadcast on Saturday mornings. I moved when I was five and I never saw my little friend again.
My models are my granddaughters, Marisa and Lela.

Processing: HDR from a single RAW, (I'm just experimenting with HDR, so I don't really know what I'm doing)open in CS2, adjust brightness/contrast, selective color, hue/sat, save. Open in Paint Shop Pro and adjust Clarify. (I love this), save. Open back up in CS2, clone out imperfections, do some dodging and burning. I think that's it.

I really like the processing on this. It kind of gives it a 70s feel without looking dated (if that makes any sense). I think it's all the browns that make me think that lol. I love the patterned carpet. It's so cute to see the two of them just sitting and reading. Congrats on the top 10!

This is so charming and nostalgic - very nicely composed too, and the geometrics of the carpet design jazz the whole thing up.

I'm on an anti-HDR kick right now, but this a cool shot. I wasn't thinking about how the HDR makes this look like an illustration from the 60s. Another example of a DPC voter not giving a photo enough thought! (luckily, most of the other voters outsmarted me)

The slightly desaturated colour is nice, but the patterns on the carpet are very distracting, and detract from the focal point of the image.

Good idea this. That said, rug feels too distracting to me and the HDR looks doesn't really add anything.
