...two lost souls Swimming in a fishbowl...by xianartComment: You executed the idea beautifully. I so love the blue sky behind the bowl and the upshot really works. I also considered doing this for "our" lyric (rummaged through my brain for all sorts of souls - tissue paper, toile, dye, etc and then finally chickened out and drew them, which definitely had its problems). I would have been very happy to have submitted this. |

Harley Catby cuspieComment: I gave this a 6 - really like the extreme close up and the great focus on the eye. And I like how the green in the background matches! You did a terrific job cloning out the eye boogie - I wish I could do that for my cat routinely, in 3D. There is no end to his goop. |

Donkeys in loveby snafflesComment: Wonderfully emotive shot. I like donkeys! You've gotten some good tips worth trying. Since you can't really do anything about the focus at this point, you could try a spitshine of one or more photoshop art filters - like poster edges, cutout, chalk and charcoal, etc. While it wouldn't make this crowd love it, you might still squeeze a moody, artsy image out of it. I hope you will take more donkey pictures! |

Gutteral Brownby MelethiaComment: Yes, you did get the saturation just right. I don't understand why the cruddy 4 and below votes. I didn't vote in brown but perhaps like the sticky challenge, the topic put voters in a lousy mood. However, you got a nice full histogram with lots of high votes too :) The focus on your leaf is so nice. Maybe they didn't like the blur on the right? I guess that could be creatively cropped but it really changes the composition. Gutteral? Ha! Ach! Ich haben a laugh over that, you Deutscher you ;-) |

another brickby sickdogComment: I thought this was a great wall shot. It has a really harsh and desolate feel to it - perfect. This is the kind of photo where I'd probably play with curves and levels for a while, then decide to leave it the way it was anyway ;-) |

And if the cloud bursts, thunder in your ear...you shout and no one seems to hear.by bmartuchComment: Great acting! I love what your curves did to the sky. DPC typically gets grouchy about weird contrast on people, unless it's high key or grunge. It stunk that this wasn't an advanced challenge - because in that case you could have masked out your subject and had the effect in the sky only (as noraneko mentions). However, given the extreme/surreal leanings of a PF challenge, you should have been given more leeway and scored higher. Pffft. |
