Funny, kind of looks like the finger is scolding the light switch and it is cowering with it's head down! That's an old switch.

I like the lighting on the can and table but do think that the cropped of pop top distracts a bit. As for the horizon line I just use the marque tool(PS cs2), expand almost the full size of the photo and rotate the crop to be paralle to the horizon line then crop. That's just one way to do it hope it helps.

Cool capture and it does look like a robot. I will say that it does seem crooked or off balanced but like you said cropping it may not have looked right.

Very Cool! You never realize that's how the letters look. Great composition especially leaving in the copper part of the battery. Nice macro!
