Lateral Displacementby Bear_MusicComment: Hmm, I share the same thoughts as Frisca there - would have preferred to omit the lens on the right completely. You look almost like a film director, Robt! :) |

Sirby Joey LawrenceComment: damn! I really need to learn more about your tricks - what's with a torchlight and waxpaper landing you with wonderful lighting such as this and ending with a 4th place!
p/s: now if only someone from the top 3 places would fail to submit their originals :p |

Hat Trickby jjbeguinComment: This is a cute one, JJ. The hats are so striking that my eyes gets drawn to them the instant the photo appeared. Each person in the picture seems occupied with their own business, its great. Love the desaturation and the exposure, just right. |

Tulips in a Vaseby banmornComment: these flowers are beautiful! I really liked the soft lighting and the exposure used here. A better crop may land this photo much higher, in my opinion. Congrats on the top 10 placement!

Teenageby Joey LawrenceComment: in one word - expressive
I like the naturally framed way you composed this pic.
Cool WB and no grundge effects? ;) Suits the photo!
And Joey, congrats on the top 20 placement! |

A. Peroni, Wine Grower.by jjbeguinComment: I can feel the devotion, and love this person has towards his wine garden from the photo. His expression seems to show that he has full dedication to whatever he is doing - some kind of passion.
The angle of the photo puts the man in the middle of the plants, just busy enough to show the size of the place, and simple enough to isolate him from everything else. The black & white conversion also helps make me see the shapes and sizes very well. Good work.
p/s: good to have you back in the challenges again, JJ. I hope the exhibition has been good too? |

Jim Talin, Master Bookbinderby Bear_MusicComment: I always check my favourites after a roll-over.
First of all, congrats on the 4th place (fingers crossed if someone from the top 3 gets DQ'ed, lol!) A very close one, Robt!
The DOF control is nice - just shallow enough to give the books and the table in front a sense of depth. And I like the simple border you used here, very suitable. |

CRW_6575_RT16b.jpgby dwterryComment: A sweet model and superb setup.
I really liked how the background seems to create a dramatic halo on the girl, and the finely done desaturation is amazing. Great job! |

CRW_6575_RT16a.jpgby dwterryComment: This is beautiful.
The background is a splendid choice too.
I have also seen the selective desaturated version and liked that too!
Good work |
