Sunless dayby pheonix676Comment: Greetings from the Critique club. First le tme say I think this deserved a better score then it received. This is easily a high five low 6 photo, even by DPC's standards. I love the clarity, the colors, meeting the challenge, creative use of timed exposure to get what you needed. One thing I will bring to the table, is I always recommend at least one and usually two borders on entries here, the presentation is just so much more appealing to voters. I highly recommend it. Otherwise I'm not sure what the voters were looking for here, its def exposed to the right with blown highlights. Voters......go figure. |

Stitchesby Love6Comment: Greetings from the critique club. How odd the first one I pull from the que is yours. OK here we go
First things I find that might have hurt the score, the catch lights in the eyes are not equal(is that a fongsphere?) One thing that I might have changed to see the texture of the doll a bit is add some directional light. Bring it from the side and lets see some texture and shadows out of all those stitches and cloth. It might also bring the catchlights higher in the eye and make them more natural. Crop is nice and tight, but a little centered I might have experimented with it a few different crops to see which I liked better rather then centered.
I like how you desaturated the colors and have the tones nice and warm. Good luck in future challenges. |

New Couple.jpgby LonniComment: I think this is nice, one thing that sticks out is the racoon eyes. I dont know the nikon speed light so I cant say for sure, but is there a small white pull out bounce card on it? Perhaps pull it out to toss some fill forward. Otherwise, I might suggest a good modifier, Many complain out the lightsphere being wasteful of light, but its very flattering and tosses good light in all directions. Might look into it. I'd also like to commend you on the job on the eyes, very hard to tell anything was done. |

Rocksby ArtanComment: Lighting seems very harsh, highly recommend diffusing to make the light a larger light source to make it more pleasing. Also light from the sides to prevent direct reflections to the camera. |

Seduce your sensesby Mark-AComment: I think being advanced editing I'd have removed the harsh reflections on the bottle. Otherwise clean shot. |

Greek vaseby hajekaComment: I really wish you could see the whole vase. Being a product shot challenge the produce should be visible. |
