Works on the Townby PaigeComment: Amazing shot. The red firework in contrast to the church tower really has a nice affect! Nice crop and composition. 10 -danny |

Why God...why now?by K-RobComment: One of my favorites of the challenge. The title tied in well with your capture. I feel the shallow DOF works great too! Nice work. -danny |

Beautiful Brideby boyte1Comment: This is a fine image. There isn't much to draw in the viewer who doesn't know who this person is. Your camera angle is a typical height and isn't giving us a view that is unique to the occassion. The DOF chosen is very deep and doesn't blur out the background enough to make your bride the center of the shot. The foliage being so close to her prevents a blur of the background even at a larger F/stop. With her looking down at the flowers we are drawn to them, but with the crop and zoom you've chosen, there is not enough attention made to the flowers so the eye again drifts off to other parts of the image. I would have tried to use either a higher elevation for the shot, or lower angle looking up into her eyes. I'd choose a large F/stop and focus on the flowers in her hand making her face and body somewhat out of focus. The bouquet to me is the focus of the picture and I would have worked towards making the viewer appreciate the moment by using emotive elements in the capture. 5 - danny |

Low Key Inheritanceby shareinncComment: There seems to be an odd tilt to the image. I do like that you have included color in your shot. At first glance it is hard to figure out what these are, but once you realize they are glasses you can appreciate the soft lighting with interesting curves. Your choice of a shallow DOF may have been better suited for a better lit image, with the combination of both dark light and shallow DOF you make it much more difficult for the voter to figure out your scene. Another thing to think about is the human element. A still life like this, with the components you have here lacks a human touch. There is nothing to draw in the viewer to have a longer more intimate look. Your tight cropping athe bottom and right side also leave the image feeling off balanced. I am now working at bringing a less cold view to my work so that the viewer feels more a part of my work. Still, you got an 8 from me. Nice work. -danny |
