This is a nice shot that shows the quiet morning hours. The dew on the ground is a nice element. I think that that other then the sky being a little bright and the darker areas not being deeper in their depth of shade you have a nice composition that meets the numbers requirement well. Your crop may have been a little tighter to crop out the black line in the lower right and doing a metering on the sky would have darkened up the ground elements giving them more depth.
Nice shot! |

"One Way"by WILDBLUEComment: Critique Club Comment:
This is a nice looking bridge. I think that you have take a wider shot then needed. I think that with the lines in your surroundings the bridge itself gets lost. With the conversion to black and white, you have furthered the bridge being lost. The angle isn't bad, but with your current crop my eye is drawn to the stop sign and not the bridge. I would like to see a crop of just the width of the bridge. This would minimize what other objects my eyes are drawn to. Also, maybe by keeping the photo in color, we can see more of the detail in the bridge as it would surely be a different color then the background trees.
Moving in on your subject can sometimes produce great results. Don't be afraid to try something more artsy with your angles and crops. You may be surprised that an otherwise ordinary snapshot can become a piece of art. |

Falconbridge is falling down...... falling down...by BigSmilesComment: Howdy! This shot, although has a humorous element, is missing some key technical qualities. The tower itself is leaning to the right (maybe why you titled it this). This makes the eye feel the shot is unbalanced. The positioning of the tower in the middle of the frame puts all the focus on it, however, with so much of the legs from the tower showing your eye isn't drawn to the text at the top. Instead you get lost in the fence and tree. The tree also makes for noise that isn't needed. If you had cropped just above the tree and used maybe a square framing as a result the eye would clearly see the text on the tower and the viewer would relate this to the challenge better. The blue in the tower is nice, it however is flat against the sky behind it. Upping your contrast a little might help seperate the two elements. The edges around the tower are a little soft, maybe a light sharpen to help make it more crisp.
This is a funny idea, I just feel it got lost in your translation to the viewers.
(my two cents) |

Solemnby AnastasiaComment: Nice sharp picture. The eyes follow the lines to the trees and river nicely. Hard to expose for a bright day like this, but you did a good job preserving the detail under the bridge but not having it to oversaturated in the sky. |

Extending Over the Severn Estuaryby KonadorComment: This is the most unique perspective I've seen. The framing of the suspension part of the bridge by the underneath of it farther back is very well done! I like your tone and contrast used. |
