Clairby xianartComment: Yes! What Deb said - I thought it was the light of Claire, who's corset remains, while she is gone. I like this image, though I can see why it wouldn't do well in FS - takes too much time to absorb. |

Before You Call For Service Checkby electrolostComment: Well, you scored better than I did. I like it - it's funky and weird as many of your shots, but in FS it was bound to bomb. Nothing wrong with the image, but it does lack some wow. And FS is all about wow. |

Elegyby figaroComment: I absolutely adore this shot and would have given it an 8, had I voted. I feel the simplicity and elegance of the composition is excellent. Clearly underrated and great material for a Posthumous ribbon, in my opinion. (Too centered... to shmentered - people need to get over that. Sometimes centered is appropriate, as in this case.) |

sarahby magenmarieComment: I like the tones in this shot. But I can tell you from experience (most recently with my bombed Free Study entry) that when you go with what other people like it's going to end badly - (tongue in cheek here). Meaning... you lose your objectivity and that generally brings the lower score with it. That said, I would have given this a 5 for a decent photo with not a lot of wow. |

Looking at me?by sulamkComment: The mottled light is difficult to work with. Love your bokeh and the colors. I fiddled with it a bit with a levels adjustment layer, which made the colors more defined so the bird stands out more against the background. Some sharpening also helped the bird pop better. I probably would have given it a 5 if I had voted. |

A Laugh To Settle The Last Minute Jittersby scarbrdComment: I'm chiming in with the others - the focus is too wide. A closer crop would have brought home the point of the image. I can see why you like it, but it doesn't translate to a broad audience. |

Man and Dogby MelethiaComment: Now see, I really like this shot. The BW and good contrast are excellent. The composition is different and makes you look - not the smooth stuff we usually see. Me, I like shots that inspire to stop and study for a minute. That said, however, here on DPC, in a Free Study, it was not likely to do better due to what's generally popular. I would have given it a 7 based on my personal taste. |

ex·hil·a·ra·tionby smardazComment: It's very arty, Jason - and you know how arty shots do here. I didn't vote, but I would have given it a 6 - not more because I'm a noise hater. But that's just a personal preference. I love her serene look and the high light on the face, as well as the whole composition. |
