I really like the subdued colors in this shot. The repetition of tattoo motifs (on the neck, the arm, the wall) is awesome. Nice, tight crop - excellent. I'm sure it didn't get a higher score because there is no wow- or aw-factor. It's "just" an interesting, good candid.

High contrast - people either love it or hate it. Here, the mostly hate it.

I like this for its boldness and contrast, use of negative space and the composition overall. Well seen and interestingly processed.

The elements of the shot are wonderful - branch, berries, bokeh. Colors are really great. I'll echo what some others said in terms of what is "off" - the rhythm or flow of the composition. A tighter crop, different angle for the DOF - something along those lines. The eye is unsure where to go. I think in a different challenge it would have done much better.

Fantastic street scene - the haze, the arch, all the different people - very well seen. Love the BW for this. It's technically sound, clear, good contrast. Really excellent photo.

You'd think something unusual and quirky would be appreciated, but no. Love the composition, the sum of the elements in the photo and the tones. My only reservation would be the frame, which to me seems a little heavy in face of the soft colors of the image.

Edit to say - I just saw that you mentioned the frame yourself in the I love my shot thread. So nevermind.

This is really lovely - delicate colors, awesome light. I would try a white frame on it, though. The black seems to drag it down a bit. The birds are gorgeous and posing so nicely for the photo. This is very good.
