If Fences Could Be Bridgesby colorcarnivalComment: Heh - this is awesome! Took me a sec to figure out that it wasn't a real car. Love the idea and originality of your take on this challenge. Also, I'm very fond of the tones and processing. Excellent photo.

Standing Byby kleskiComment: In response to your post in the forums:
During voting I liked this photo and gave it a 6. The colors are rich and to me, the soft focus adds to the ambiance. It conveys that there was an actual scene unfolding.
That said, I didn't check to see how long you've been on DPC, but know that anything out of focus when it's not the challenge topic is regularly unforgiven by the majority of the voters. Regardless of how great it looks.
A dilemma I face all the time is - do I shoot and submit what is 'me' and what I like, or do I shoot what I know will do well? In any case, good luck with future submissions.

Care Freeby CharleneComment: This is like a distant memory. You're trying to remember, but just can't quite get it to snap into place.
Such an excellent image, Charlene. The angle, the use of Lensbaby, the BW tones - all wonderful.

Downtown Pollutionby CharleneComment: Charlene - I absolutely loved this during voting and gave it an 8. I'm shocked that it didn't finish higher - but you know how it is... probably too arty, or something.
In any case I like it. It's so well seen and executed. I've always been fond of your B&W photos.
Edit to add:
You got an X-prize!!

Day-16-Hollands Delight.jpgby JerseyGenieComment: Excellent image, Jeanne!! Very arty and appealing. Here are some words... couldn't resist. :o)
Tiptoe through the window
By the window, that is where I'll be
Come tiptoe through the tulips with me
Oh, tiptoe from the garden
By the garden of the willow tree
And tiptoe through the tulips with me
Knee deep in flowers we'll stray
We'll keep the showers away
And if I kiss you in the garden, in the moonlight
Will you pardon me?
And tiptoe through the tulips with me

didge & dogby RetroesqueComment: What a kick that the dog is looking back at the didgeridoo player. Nice street candid.
