Love the B&w tones for it perfectly suits the composition. My eye is really drawn to the spiral movement of the staircase as it winds its way up to the top. I really like how you have the spiral emerging from the top right corner. Congrats on making it in the top 20 Janine!!!

Love the processing that brings out the warm tones. The composition is fantastic too - the nameless girl runs with carefree motion to the sea. She runs along the line that bridges land to water...and it is also the perfect leading line that draws my eye out to the horizon. The warm tones, moody sky, running with carefree abandon perhaps reach the seagulls at the end of the beam/bridge gives me a sense of this captured frame representing a moment of a pleasant memory being recalled. Congrats on the Red ribbon!

Pam, love this fantastic creation! Your model (your lovely daughter) is fantastic as Professor Buckly - more power to ladies in science and in science fiction!!! I love your metal menagerie you created as well...the owl is my favorite. Congrats on the 4th place finish

The blues and golds give this an ethereal otherworldly beauty. Love how you included people in the frame for it gives the sense of scale how small is Man in the grand scheme of nature. Congrats on winning the blue Nikki!!!

Just saw this on my DPC FB feed and had to come and comment: This is fantastic. I loved The Shadow on the Wind! This captures the awe and wonder on Daniel's face when his father first shows him the Cemetery of Forgotten Books perfectly. This could be a still from a movie. Great light, mood, and capture - congratulations on capturing the scene beautifully and winning the blue!

In terms of art with impact - you have truly outdone yourself. I have gone back to look at the original and then your art piece; the tones, mood, characters and message are masterfully done Christophe. The cast of people in your presentation well represents the forms of expression - from music, photography, news, painting, comedy, social networking/blogger, writing/literature - that all take shelter/follow under the guiding light of the banner of liberty. In light of the terrible events that happened in France - this is a most poignant art piece that imparts a strong message. Well done - congrats on your well deserved blue.

Christophe, I do have one question: Since there is so much symbology in your piece, and colors can mean different things in different countries/cultures - Why did you choose Liberte as wielding a red pencil?
