Sandseaby AgaerisComment: What a great title that complements the photo! Even had you not titled it such or we could not see titles, I still look upon this and see ocean waves cresting on this 'sandy' shore. Beneath an arch of earth churns a sea of sand, the waves undulated and flow in ridges and crests as they peak and break upon the desert soil. Love the play of light and the beautiful warm tones of red, orange and gold colors that sweeps across these ridges. Wonderfully composed and well captured. A lovely natural beauty to behold to which I am sure you will remember for a long time. Well done. |

dis'con·nec'tionby SeanachaiComment: What a great 'statement' photo that reflects upon the state of human beings in this century. Amazing how with so many technological advances that we have a tiny fully portable communications device that we can be so disconnected from our surroundings and other people. Love this capture of so many people talking on their cell phones 'connecting' with people distant at a remote location while each and every one of them are seperated by distance from each other and not noticing or looking at anyone in the room. Ironic - they are connected but disconnected and that is such a poignant statement in this composition that comes in so loud and clear. You have a great eye to spot this or if posed you realized your idea beautifully and with much gravitas. I also like the B&W for a color version I feel would mute the message by distracting the viewer with colors. I also want to complement you on the wonderful dynamic B&W tones I see here. Well done all around. |

Rush!by SkipComment: Oh yes indeed!!!! What a rush this ride is - and the capture on their faces is absolutely great!!! Love the motion blur we see in the backdrop for it imparts to us the sense of motion - a very fast rush as this ride zooms by. The kids and the carriage portion of the ride are in perfect sharp focus which gives the viewers the joy of seeing the expressions of the riders as they cackle and gickle and laugh with a mix of glee and fear as they speed on by. A well timed and absolutely great action shot with a great people shot of these two kids having a great time. This is not an easy capture so I can appreciate it even more that you got the timing and focus so spot on. A great capture, thanks for sharing this. |

One of those daysby truogreComment: Oh, this really made me chuckle! The pose/look of the exhausted squirrel collapsed on this tree branch is priceless! Normally they are all bushy tailed, bright eyed and twitchy bundles of energy so to see one that looks utterly exhausted is a rare find. This is a great shot but it could be even better if you boast the contrast and up the color saturation just a tad more. That way they colors and play between light and shadow tones are not as washed out. Other than that thank you for sharing this little gem that brings a smile to the face. |

Belly Full of Crickets - Pocket Full of Sunshineby ErinKirstenComment: Happy colors and happy frog! The colors really are bold and vibrant against the backdrop of the white. Sunshine yellow of the daisy and the meadow green of the frog and the stem not to mention the bold reds/oranges/and purples of this little climbing frog that really stand out. Love the pose of this little frog - he seems to be very playful scampering up to the flower and taking a glance our way. I know that it is normally how they hold there mouths but he seems to be cracking a smile at us as he does what he loves best - climbing...trees, flowers, etc, etc...Lastly I love the level of sharp details we see here - the textured bumps of the belly of the frog are tack sharp and we even see some texture detail on the flower stem! |

Morning Dewby xakpeetComment: This is absolutely stunning in color and composition!!! Love how the surface of the 'water' is a golden warm hue. The dew bubbles/spheres are akin to reflective glass mirrors that show us a beautiful day with lovely blue skies and white clouds - perfect for daydreaming. Something else that I see reflected back in the dewdrops is I see what looks like an 'island' (maybe it is a house but it is not defined on my screen). It invokes the idea of a small island just like these dewdrops are akin to tiny water islands on the surface of the lake/bay/ocean. |

Strollby EyeTrapComment: Dusk...the day has come to an end and all work has been set aside. Time to surface and take a stroll - to breathe in the fresh air and relax away the tensions of the day. This is what the picture speaks to me. A wonderful capture that shows the beauty of the bay. The two people in silhouette taking a stroll on this scenic shoreline could be anyone - an easy way for us to project ourselves into the scene and take a stroll ourselves. Love the B&W tones too for it heightens the mood and feel. |

The sweetest thingby rmezzoComment: Oh, what a lovely joy to behold in the eye's and the expression on this beautiful child!!!!This is a great high key image! Wonderfully done and an excellent light on white portrait! You captured such pure joy that alights in this child's eyes! We see it in the expression of the open mouth too but it is they eyes that draws me in and hold my attention. |

Paseo de la Senoraby RistyzComment: Love the sunset colors for they add such warmth and vibrancy to the scene captured. A vaquero/vaquera and his/her horse out for a stroll at the end of the day is the scene that unfolds before me. Love the pose of the horse - (I have to say it very much reminds me of a classic pose that they have for the Breyer horse models...yes, I had them as a child and now my eldest has her own collection). The silhouettes of the horse and rider are nice deep blacks that contrast wonderfully against the sunset sky. Going back to the pose of the horse and rider, the horse seems about to turn away to turn towards the direction of the sunset. I feel like I am there to see this horse and rider on the hill and then, they turn and ride down the other side - off into the sunset. |

Bay Bluesby gaurawaComment: Absolutely captivating view of this majestic work of man! Love the play of colors on the surface of the water - tis almost like glass. The lighting is stunning with lots of beautiful detail on the bridge. Sometimes night scenes with lights on the bridges have the lights little more than blobs of light but there is such wonderful detail here and some absolutely stunning star patterns of light that adorn the bridge in beauty. The pillons in the foreground add some additional visual interest for they are like another pathway that runs on the lower right diagonal while the bridge has the leading lines pathway that runs across the center half of the image. A beautiful and lovely nighttime scene. |
