You have some lovely soft pastel colors that blanket the sky and are reflected in the lake. It makes me think of an lazy relaxed breezy day fishing by the lakeshore. You also have that wonderful mountain range in the backdrop that adds great visual interest to the scene. My only real critique is that while I love the soft pastel colors I really think that the mountains themselves could use more contrast so that they are really eyepoping as this bold & dark majestic towers to the sky. You could achieve that by bumping up the contrast and the saturation levels but then you would loose those wonderful pastel colors/soft hues that appear everywhere else. The only way I see to accomplish making the mountains stand out more is to select just them feather to avoid sharp edges and then bump up contrast and saturation levels. Not to much though just a tad to give more of a contrast with it's surroundings.

You have captured some really beautiful details and stunning colors seen on this passion flower. I have seen these flowers up close and they really are exotic and beautiful to look upon. I like how you composed the shot such that the center portion of the flower is at the diagonal; seeming rising up and touching the top right corner. That adds alot of visual interest to this floral shot. The colors really pop visually off of that dark background.

Great colors and details here in this rural farmland shot. I really like this capture for it tells the story of this place plus gives you a sense of 'experiencing' it - the only thing missing is the National Geographic story attached to this photo:-) I love how you captured the stance of the boy in the forefront as he has stopped to scan the horizon - a sort of lookout scout. The boy walking behind the two burros/donkeys is the herder. He makes sure that the donkeys stay together and do not stray to far. I wonder if these two boys are taking the donkeys back home or are venturing to the market perhaps to sell them. Well done - 8.

Now that is a really stunning shot showcasing the beauty of the city. Love how the highway curves at the bottom from left to right to add visual interest to the shot. Then there is that road with the light streaks of traveling cars that is perfectly centered in the middle of the image. It curves and draws our eye to travel into the cityscape. Some beautiful details of and on the buildings we see in the skyline. Beautifully captured and well done my only critique is that it is a shame it is so small because I would love to explore more of the details...but that really is not a fault of yours just a limitation on the 720 pixels a side limit.

Oh my! What a stunning capture showing the power and majesty of the waves and the adventurous spirit of those who dare to ride them! Great action shot. Love the spray of water that is coming up as the waves crash over and break. The surfer adds visual interest but also shows us the sense of scale. I like the widescreen presentation of the image for it also gives the sense of size as we drink in the sweeping landscape of this beach.

Building from outer space

Building from outer space

Wow! I really like the leading lines of the building towers on either side of the image that makes our eye travel up to the center of the image. The center has the circular shape that invokes the idea of the sun and in fact there seems to be a reflected image of that repeated in the sides of the buildings on the right and the left. Radiating from the circular structure is what looks like solar flares or heat rays from the surface of the sun. It is not as noticable on the center image but much more noticible on the reflected images on the building primarily because they have a darker surface to really showcase the 'solar' heat. I don't know exactly what structure I am looking at but this is definately one that speaks of outer space and construction of a space station. Most assuredly this was taken on terra firma...earthbound...that fact that it just screams outer space is a nod to the photographer with a good eye to spot this. Very surreal image too.

Love the warm gold orange hues that not only add warmth to the scene but the colors and silhouette of the plane adds to a sense of nostalgia. Akin to old travel posters or faded color of a well worn map the twin prop plane against the golden sky speaks of adventure. Like some of those old 40's films of 'seek adventure!' or even Indiana Jones era/films or Charles Lindbergh, the plane taking flight speaks of an era or time when the sky was the limit and there were many uncharted territories to explore and discover. It also speaks to me as a reminder that there still are - we just have to look for and appreciate them. Wonderfully captured and well presented imagery in this composition.

I LOVE the play of shapes and the slice of life you have captured in this image. I have seen this wall of water monument in other peoples photographs but never one that shows such a wonderful progression of life. I wonder if this was a lucky moment where a candid shot took on a story to be told or even if you waited for the moment. The story I see is that there are three 'doors' or stages of life's path scene here. The first starts with the young couple on the far left. I see the woman in a full length dress that makes me think of a newly married couple ready to start off their life together. The next stage is the middle one where we see two people with young children between them. This is the stage where a couple become a family. The last door/stage/panel seen in the far right has two people in it again. This time I see it as a life stage where the children have grown up and left but the couple remains, older but very much together. This Wall of Water is like a curtain that sets the stage to showcase the story that unfolds before it. Well done and thank you for showcasing this gem!

Shame there is not more light on the eyes to REALLY showcase that angry and defiant stare. Absolutely love the stance of this boy, fists clenched ready to lash out. The air is thick with angry energy that radiates not just from this seven year olds stance but the glaring stare he levels at the viewer as we/I look upon the scene. What made him angry we wonder. The graffiti in the backdrop is perfect for one can see it as symbolic or representive of angry youth out there that utilize their anger in one form of defacing public property or worse...gangs to get a sense of belonging. But back to the main subject, the emotion is very strong and comes across to me as very palpable. The B&W tones are very dynamic and wonderfully done. Well captured!

Stay on the path...follow the line and never venture off of it for you never know what lies in the unchartered territory of the woods beyond. That double yellow line is very bold and very vibrant I also get imagery that this child travels a 'yellow brick road' of sorts. Black and white tones are stunningly dynamic. The power of the image is strong for plays upon several themes. One, is of course what some children threaten to do when angry "run away from home'. This is something parents fear - especially if a child acts on it. There is another way of looking at this image symbolically. I see it as that a child will take their own path as they grow leaving childhood behind to travel roads beyond. It is a bittersweet thing for a parent to watch, but for a great many there is pride and love in the person the child grows up to be. Another symbolic way of looking at this is to project ourselves in the image and think back to the first steps we took from childhood in the journey to adulthood. A childhood remembered and forgotten at the same time - and introspective piece.
