Laurelindórinan (Land of the Valley of Singing Gold)by NeilComment: Ah, someone has been into the Tolkien:-) But isn't it spelled with an 'e' LaurelindorEnan? Yes, this is very lovely scene that dazzles our eyes with the natural beauty. Colors are beautiful and the soft flow capture of the waterfall makes it look surreal. One odd thing is that there is an odd curvature in the scene - the trees to the left are bending inward as well as the rock face of the mountain on the right. The mountain cliff leaning forward towards us seems to be looming and almost pressing it's weight forward to propel us past the waterfall. A very beautiful and enchanting place you have captured. |

For Soon The Cold Of Night Will Fall...by NuzzerComment: The cool blue hues in the composition really projects the feeling of a cold and chilly night rolling in with the fog. Love the dark silhouette of the barren tree. It's branches undulate and stretch not just skyward but down towards the water as we see it's reflection. Beautiful, simple and poetic in this capture - 9 |

Summer Bloomby PGerstComment: Love the bright buttercup yellows of the flowers in this shot. It definately catches and draws the eye in. The bokeh effect provides a lovely and colorful backdrop to complement the main subject. Love the level of detail that one can see in the soft petals and the center portion of the flower. |

Mt. Sneffles Coloradoby delinComment: With that majestic mountain in the backdrop and the lovely colors of the plantlife spread out before us this is just a downright beautiful place to sit and drink it all in. It is also a wonderful place to hike and explore. Colors and detail are fabulous! A shoot worthy of a calendar. |

Mom, he's touching me!by SandyCComment: Love the colors in this shot of the jellyfish - title is humorous too! Those amber yellows really pop off the dark backdrop and draw the eye. I was going to complain that the image clarity is a tad soft, but now I think it works a bit in this composition's favor. The reason is that it gives it a touch of a dreamy look - not to mention gives the jelly's a 'feel' that they would be soft to the touch ...if one dared to do so. |

St Chapelleby MilaMilesComment: There is just too much going on in this composition. While the colors in the arches in the foreground are appealing the stained glass windows in the backdrop have a processed look that is way over saturated in the reds and blues. There is also way too many shapes and patterns that with the arcs and windows that it overwhelms the eye. Helping the viewer to focus what you want them to see as the main subject would help this photo greatly. A vertical crop that mimics and complements the vertical lines/shape of the 'box'/domed arced roof structure would improve the composition greatly. Not only that but a vertical crop would also follow the lines and shape of those stained glass windows. |

Stu D. Bakerby bassboneComment: This looks like one ol' grouchy car. Processing really helps bring out the rust patterns as well as give a nice boost of color on the green peeling paint. The white grill looks like a big bushy mustache. Composition, lighting, and color tones are wonderful. Nice find! |

Shocked and saddenedby Adamsw216Comment: Not sure what device I am looking at here but I certainly see the woe is me sad frown. On the technicals you nailed the lighting, focus, and composition. Great find on this frowny face. |

Always happy to serve you...by redpandaComment: Service with a smile...Great find on this bathroom smiley. Composition is great but some technicals suffer. This has great potential to move up into the high above average category - mayhap even the exceptional. One problem is the depth of field (DOF). The toilet roll eyes are OOF (out of focus). Placing your camera on a steady surface or tripod you can then use a greater F-stop (maybe 8 or higher) along with a slower shutter speed to let in enough light to illuminate the subject. The greater F-stop will give you a greater DOF so that the eyes will be in sharp focus too. Lighting is a bit uneven. The left hand side is illuminated fine but the right side has deep shadows making the smile look uneven. Even using a small desk lamp brought in to sit on that side could/would even out the lighting. Lastly the crop may be a tiny bit tooo tight on the smile - pulling back or cropping a little less on the bottom portion will show off a touch more of the smile and reenforce the imagery of this being a toilet....although thinking that over more I'm not sure you want to make it that strong:-) |

The Lobbyby h2Comment: Not a true smile or frown but very creative use of objects to create a face! I see this 'table' face as an aloof guy just leaning back on the wall and puffing away at his ciggie. Photo is technically excellent in color tones, lighting and composition. I have to be honest with you, I am docking a few points because of the no true smile or frown - still it remains in the above average category - 7. |
