The Call of the Darkby AlexSaberiComment: "The woods are lovely, dark, and deep..." is the specific line from Robert Frost's poem that came to mind as I looked upon your photo. Excellent capture of these deer in the deep woods - lighting is fabulous creating an air of magic to the scene. Love how the crossed branches with the leaves and the ground act as a 'curtained stage' that these beautiful creatures appear on. |

Surfs Up by JulietNNComment: Fantastic action shot! Love the 'electric' colors of greens and blues in the water - normally wouldn't like too saturated look but here it just works - maybe because the action is 'electric'/high energy. Great details on the wave including all the ripples and the dropplets flying about. Nice catch of the wave curl and crash as well and the poise of the surfer taking it to the max as he rides. |

Formationsby grahamgatorComment: Colors in the sky and clouds are reminiscent of that what you see in Maxfield Parrish paintings. Lovely and ethereal in color - very pretty to look at in a photograph but not enough to capture and hold one's attention for long. I think (and this is just my opinion) it needs an additional element that would add some umph to the composition; it could be a plane, a kite, sunbeams fanning out from the clouds, a hot air balloon, a hang-glider, a flock of birds are just some examples to name a few. |

Honey I shrunk the...Honey? Where are you?by KristinaGComment: Chalk up a good score for creativity and humor - love the expression on the model as she fearfully explores the chalk world she has been 'shrunk' into. Only small (tiny really) critique I can give is that the hat could have either been lightened so that it doesn't blend into the blacktop or a different color hat that would have contrasted better. |

Becoming A Canon Girl One Bite At A Timeby battymaddieComment: Well this little girl is getting an early taste of photography LOL :-) Cute girl with lovely big eyes. I'm sure she would be just as happy gumming on a large oreo cookie (which is what I first thought when looking at the thumbnail before the title) as she is with the lens cap. Composition is well lit, B&W tones are great, subject is well captured with cuteness and humor thrown in for interest. |

Hat Boxby ekmaiComment: Nice little twist to this hat box - a lady pops out of the box to model the hat;-) Lighting is excellent and the red really pops off of the white and cream tones. Nicely done |

Moss Glen Fallsby EstimatedEyesComment: Fabulous colors from the rich orange-golds of the autumn leaves to the lush greens of the trees in the backdrop. The falls dominate the center composition and have that lovely silky smooth flow. This is a beautiful nature shot. |

Goodbye old bikeby zarkoComment: My guess is the main subject is laying flowers at the site of the old bike that is not visible in the shot. However I can't get past the very first impression that hit me when I saw this image. The bike behind the gent takes on the aspect of circular wings - with the texture grain and the somber mood I get the feeling that there is something more to the story. This photo has such a surreal look and mood to it - most probably because I cannot see anything other than the man having bicycle wings. Instead of the flowers being laid at 'gravesite' my mind has taken a different path and sees that his pained expression is because of rejection: the lady did not accept his gift of flowers. |

Generation Conflictby Tatanka001Comment: Hah! Now that something you don't see every day:-)
The older lady in the back seems to be giving the younger ladies directions. A plain summer day with the Hatfield clan: "Remember girls to take steady aim with your Cannons. Carefully compose those McCoys in your viewfinders and then pull the trigger...er oh heh, I mean, push the button," said the elder Lady Hatfield.
Great candid capture that makes your audience do a doubletake and laugh at the strange mixture of old and new. |

Striking Distanceby cdn1Comment: What a great action shot!!! Love the details in the outstretched wings of this owl as he swoops in for the hunt. Would have loved to see the full wingspan not clipped but it is a very rare opportunity to capture such a moment so it is not something that overall detracts from the shot. I can see this being in the top 20:-) |
