Abiquiu Sunsetby jfritz27Comment: Fabulous and stunning colors. Love the composition that captures the wonderful span of the valley and the prominent canyon rocks. I do have one critique and that is that I think the composition would be even stronger if you shot this at a lower angle. It may not have been possible given that it appears you may have been standing on a higher rock formation looking out at the scene at level. However it might have been worth a shot to try an angle where the camera is on the ground looking out. I say this because that fabulous canyon rock structure looks stunted for it stays in the ground plane. It barely rises to peak out into the sky's realm in the photo. A shot where that rock formation has more of it's structure against the sky would project a stronger impression of the majesty and height of this structure. Aside from that, this is still a lovely shot. |

Trying to steal my thunder, are you?by herfotomanComment: Nice capture of the lightening and the rainbow occupying the sky. Because of the dark and reddish hue of the sky the green and blue bands of the rainbow are very subdued; almost not there. However the color of the sky is very sinister; threatening - if the greek gods were real than I would say that Zeus is very upset with Iris. |

Summerby bjoernComment: There are no surfboards at all in the composition but I can't help but think of the film Endless Summer....I guess mayhap the composition captures the spirit and magic of summer. The sparkle on the ocean, the sailboats in the distance and the group of people relaxing/strolling on the dock all call up the feel of a cool, calm, fun day at the beach. |

Peinture de paysageby bubeltrubelComment: What a great find of capturing a landscape photo of a painter painting a landscape. Love the composition. It shows the painter near enough to the tree that I can assume she had chosen the spot for shade but has been there for a long time that the shade has moved; the passage of time is demonstrative in the photograph. Now I do have a critique: the sephia tones I feel just don't complement the composition. The yellow/gold tones are more dull than warm. I think B&W might have been a better choice for then the play of light and shadow upon the tree and folliage/bushes would have been more visually present. And I also think that the mountain range would not blend into the sky and get lost in the composition. |

Tibetan Shepherdby wei1108Comment: This is a great cultural portrait - along the lines of what one would see when turning the pages of National Geographic Magazine. Great clouds that seems to frame and radiate out from her. Now as much as I say that this is National Geographic worthy I still have a critique that would improve the composition and thus a stronger response in your audience (oh, man can she be critical right:-) ). I know that the full body shot captures the wonderful colors in the skirt but it is at the expense of showing the story written on her face and a lesser degree minimalizing her livelihood to tiny subject barely visible in the backdrop. Bring us up close and personal with this shepherdess - a crop that is just under the 'T' of her belt would still show some of the colorful skirt but it would now bring the story written in her eyes and face that much closer...and the sheep would be a bit more noticible. |

Sunset between Pisces and Leoby HighNoonerComment: Fantastic warm golden hues that light up this composition - love the composition of elements that create visual interest. Through seeing the height of the splashing wave I can hear the roar and the crash. My eye following the line of the dock towards the open ocean and the great golden sun. I love the human element - for it gives the seascape a sense of scale. The fisherman is poised on what looks to be a precarious footing of the post - good fishing I guess, but he really must get tired from standing so carefully. Wonderful capture. |

Reverenceby aliquiComment: Good shot of this lioness but there are some things that can be done to turn this into a great shot. Nice detail in the visible eye. First off, the photo is a tad overexposed such that there is loss of detail in the body and bottom jaw has very little outline that it blends into the body. Some PP of shadows/highlight/midtones and some brightness/contrast can help in that area. Topaz Adjust is another program that can help but be careful with the pre-sets because it is easy to overdo the processing such that it 'looks' topazed. Also a crop closer to just include the head and neck would bring us closer to the lady of the savanna - show her off bring us closer. Having the body with partial chest and partial leg visible only makes the photo feel chopped and incomplete. Play up the strengths you have with the strong detail in the head - make it strong portrait of this lioness. |

Spiked Auroraby orvaratliComment: Great leading lines on the snowy road that leads off to the horizon. Our eye then follows the leading lines of the Auroa Borealis as it trails back up to the sky to focus our attention on the sky full of stars. This is definitely a fabulous display of nature to behold - would love to see it live but for now will have to be content in seeing the beauty in photos. Colors are just gorgeous. |

The source of many Cloudsby RianBotesComment: Wow, fabulous shot! The runoff of the water flows over the edge and blends seamlessly into the clouds giving the strong impression that the clouds 'pour' out over into the valley from the mountain high. Wonderful details and colors are stunning. The sun as a starburst just over the tip of the mountain is the gem that completes this stunning scene. |

Refulgenceby DigiFotoBuddyComment: It is the two lone people in the distance that is the cherry on the top for this shot; they are small in comparison to the majesty of the sunset that the idea invoked is that we are but a small part of the universe. Lovely colors and hues in the sky and sea. |
