Linguine with tomatoes, mushrooms, basil and Parmigiano Reggiano.

A very tasty looking dish and some nice ambience with the candle and wine that invites the viewer to take a seat and dine. One thing confuses me - I see the yummy mushrooms, the thin wafers of parmigian/reggiano cheese, and the colorful greens of the basil but where are the reds of the tomatoes? If it's the sauce then that is what it is, but all the other ingredients mentioned in the title are very visible which is what makes me think I *should* be seeing tomatoes in the dish. Two critiques on this composition - the reflection of the dish on the wine glass is a bit distracting - a good polarizer lens on the camera would eliminate that reflection. Perhaps a small spotlight shone on the wineglass could have also cut the reflection and illuminated that deep red wine in the glass to make the image even more appealing.

Coffee Ice Cream- Just add ice!

Love the show of ingredients for the recipe and the arrangement of elements is appealing, but there are a few things that could further boost the appeal of the shot. First I think the horizontal does not complement the image. A vertical presentation would be better because it would complement and flow with the shape of the milk bottle. Plus, a crop on the vertical would allow you to bring your viewers in for a closer look at the details and textures present in your ingredients. There is to much 'empty' space in the horizontal crop that does very little for your composition. A closer look would show off the textures of the coffee beans, the grains of sugar in the bowl, the textured surface of the eggs...Lighting also appears a bit flat - the milk and the sugar appear more biege than the typical pure white we normally think. Playing with the WB (white balance) on the camera could help adjust it to a more pure white (the backdrop also has a pinkish tone). Natural lighting (some tungsten bulbs give off a yellowish cast so choose your bulbs carefully in artificial lighting) could also help with maybe some small spotlights behind the bowl of sugar and the bottle of milk. The spotlights behind those two elements will 'outline' or deepen the the contours of the shapes of these items making them pop from the backdrop.

Love the way the light plays on the surface of the banana bread - it does indeed look moist. The golden brown is not only warm and inviting but it calls up the sense that it is rich, sweet and buttery in taste. Just a small critique - I wish the crop was not so tight - just pull back a tad so that the edge of the pan holding the middle banana bread is visible and some more of the back end of the loaf is visible. The dessert bread will still be large and dominate the scene, but it give us more of this main dessert (in sharp focus) is available for tasting.

Garlic butter drenched on prawns - looks mouthwatering. Paired with the coconut rice it probably tastes delightful! Great presentation of the dish it looks very appealing and inviting. The main delicious look of the main dish makes me wonder what other good tasting food is in store with the bowl and 'cup' I see in the backdrop (bowl looks like it might have a colorful appetizer soup...)Bottom line you made and presented an inviting dish that welcomes the viewer to take a seat and dig in. High marks for a job very well done.

Absolutely love the colors and shapes in this lovely presented dish! Tangy lime, hearty red beets, and warm yellow tomatoes paired up with some thinly sliced crunchy bread. Love the square bowl on the round dish for it adds visual appeal to this delicious looking salad. Very well done - hope to see this in the top 5.

Pepperoni and bacon - mmmm-yum, a tasty meal (in moderation of course:-) ). Pizza looks good to eat but there are some things that could be done to make the presentation of the pizza move from above average into the exceptional score category. I see some of that great crunchy crust but I wish more of it was included in the shot. Mayhap pull back so that you can show off the crust and introduce the curve of the pizza with edge starting at bottom left and extending to the mid-right (just so show off the appealing shape as well). The lighting seems too yellow/flat (seems like it might be tungsten lighting) in tone - either experimenting with the WB settings on the camera or shoot with some natural light would lessen to too yellow tones in the cheese and make it pop more visually.

Great arrangement of seafood in the bowl of paella. Very artfully done to make it look visually appealing as well as tasty. You have also made the dish warm and inviting by including a welcoming sit down table setting. I get the strong feeling I am your guest who is being welcomed to dinner with this fabulous feast. Well done I can see this being in the top 5 easily.

MMMMmmmm those strawberries look absolutely delicious! The chocolate coating is more of a art design making it almost too good to eat...almost;-) And it's not just strawberries but some rasberries and blackberries dipped in chocolate by the looks of it. Nicely presented with a dainty plate that helps make the chocolate drenched strawberries fill the screen. Nicely paired with a cup of coffee or perhaps tea - the invoked idea of an afternoon snack. Lighting is fabulous showcasing all the tasty details and the vibrant reds of strawberries. Love the steam coming from the cup which is a nice attention to detail. This is a wonderful visual treat - a great big 10.

Coming back to comment after voting earlier. Great lighting on your subject that shows off the nice golden crisp brown of the cinnabon along with the white sugary-sweet tasting frosting. Simple presentation with a widescreen view giving the viewer 'the big picture'. The widescreen view however contrasts with the small size of the cinnabon on the plate - meaning a smaller plate would make the cinnabon fill the screen more in conjunction with the 'big' feeling one gets from a widescreen view. Overall, a great simple and clean presentation of this sweet treat:-)

Coming back to comment after voting earlier. Visually the composition is quite lovely with interesting angle, textures, and color. Lighting is good but there are a few blown highlights tending to a high key. Love how vibrant the red and green topping is on the pearl tapioca pudding. Not a big fan of the large black border - a larger view to give us more to 'taste' would have made this a stronger composition. For a food combo, I have to admit the pairing with something sweet & desertlike with that of smokey tuna fish is a bit odd. Weather it was done because it tastes good together or just for the aesthetics for the photo is a question...but sweet and salty/smokey might be a good pairing....Overall very nicely captured and done - 7.
