You might be interested in knowing how to better resize things. There are many tutorials in the learn section. I'd try some of the techniques in there before you enter a challenge.

//www.dpchallenge.com/tutorial.php?TUTORIAL_ID=26

That one will help you with resizing and generally preparing images to upload.

This looks nice, and the colors are great, but I can't see it well enough to tell for sure.

I'm thinking something like a beauty dish would have been better for the reflection, I'm just not diggin the big rectangle. Had he not had the ray-ban's on, the lighting would be perfct as always for you. How many minutes a day does he spend trimming and plucking that perfect stubble anyways?

sweet shot, in both the senses of the word. I like the strip ND effect in the middle, really cool.

Really, as a flower macro, this is severely lacking. DOF is entirely too short for this frontal facing type of macro. Central crop just leave it really flat. You need to work on your manual focus for flower macro shots. Even your 6+ entry with the orange flower seems a bit blurry to me. Clarity is everything in macros. If you were going for an abstract, that would be different. This is not that. Use late evening or early morning light to get great backlight effects and side lighting to bring out texture.

I assume you're using the Sigma 70-300? I don't think you have another macro lens. It's extremely difficult to get a really good DOF on that lens. I use it for some things, but only if I want to highlight a specific feature. Generally I set the shutter to about 320, and hope for the best with aperture. If you really want a great macro lens, a 50 or 100mm macro is in order. The sigma 105 is right up there with the Canon 100 macro. If you're going to be using this for a while, you might want to use a tripod to get yourself up to f/22 and above. BTW, that lens is a bit sharper at 200mm than 300.

You have some other great pictures, but I think this is one area where you really need to go in depth and study what makes macro's and flower shots really work. I'd suggest Ursula and Dax's portfolios for some great examples.

This one isn't too awe inpiring to me. Maybe it's just the size, but I can't find anything to grab my attention here. The path leads off and up, and then you're just left to wander here, then the trees sort of lead you up and out of the picture. Ultimate effect, this all happens in half a second, someone takes a glance and then looks away without knowing why you brought them here.

I think that the idea here was good, but the execution was lacking. I think it does show success in a certain way. I also think that many really don't understand success in a healthy manner, which leads them not to understand how this fits the challenge.

The execution part: Portraits of any kind, even far away and under trees, are better with directional lighting than with full daylight. The light is so incredibly even on you, that it almost seems you could be pasted in. I'm thinking you may have meant for the shaft of light to highlight your son, but the light then became too harsh. Also, this shot setup I think works better with much negative space instead of busy space that you see here. Maybe you two sitting on a hillside with mostly blue sky above you. Maybe that or this in provia black and white.

I also get in those moods where I just want to take a picture for me and ignore all the artsy crud, but I and you should probably resist entering these photo's, and just enjoy them on our walls. (I also do stupid too-literal stuff like my bokeh entry)

This image is somehow strangely powerful to me. Somehow the impression of a bride in a veil going to meet a man she does not love comes to mind. The veil is cutting off an chokin the life from her, smothering her. She is no longer important and all that matters now is the veil. She has become a bride and as such, is no longer herself. She's almost being pushed out of the frame by it even.

Beyond that, I love the soft look and feel of this.

BTW - If you turn this 90 degrees CCW, then the whole feel of this changes.

PPS - Something like this would score about a 3.5 in a challenge. I love it.
