Seaside Cowsby BeagleboyComment: This is similar to Rikki11's black cat. It's very difficult to meter solid black subjects. You have a double whammy with the bright reflecting water in the background. To get more details in the cows you probably have to blowout the background. Maybe if you changed perspective, so the background is closer to the cow in tones. That or you'll really have read up on metering for this type of exposure. |

Morning Calmby jenesisComment: I was just checking out your portfolio, you have very nice photos in there. The thing I noticed the most about your photographs, is that the exposures are exceptional. You really have a knack for getting them right. This photo is calm and beautiful and a great example of your exposure skills. I do okay with composition, but I'm really weak at exposures...so I'm very jealous of your skills! |

24kby SJCarterComment: I like the tones and colors, they are very warm and rich. So rich that this photo has and almost abstract feel to it. The exposure is great, compositionally it is good but just needs a little something extra to get to the wow level. |

Christby mahobbesComment: You got pretty good exposure in the face considering that the statue is so harshly backlit. I'm not a real big fan of the composition, the dead center is uninteresting and gives you that snapshot feel. If you can reshoot it, try to place in the statue in different positions in the frame and see what really works. Experiment with rule of thirds, it's a good rule. Watch your backgounds too, they can often be very busy and take away from your subject. |

Roman Arenaby elee3009Comment: This is tough one to comment on, It doesn't have that artistic flair that so many of your photos have. This one seems a bit flat, it reminds some of a historical photo you would see in a museum. For that type of photo its very good, but I would rather see your artistic flair. Street language.jpgby elee3009Comment: I love this photo, its so bright and bold very interesting. It could be a little bit sharper, but that's just minor. I think it might be interesting if the man in the whiter shirt was still more in the picture, instead of leaving it. He does draw the eye over and then out, a bit. |

Flower Abstractionby RikkiComment: I think abstracts a very difficult for mass appeal, the always has be that something extra special to have mass appeal. You have good forms and movement through the composition. I like the strong color, but it does seem oversaturated as elee3009 suggests. I wonder if harder and crisper edges would add to the photo or if would just take away the abstractness of the photo. |

Tranquil Dawnby justin_hewlettComment: You created some mood with darkness of this photo. Compositionally there seems to be alot of empty space. I like the idea of a vertical frame for the shot, with the edges to either side of the large light reflection on the water. But then again that may take away from the horizontal lines of the photo. Storm Comingby justin_hewlettComment: Wow, this one goes largley unnoticed? I think this is a pretty good photo. The colors are great. Jammur and elee3009 both make good comments about emphasizing the storm clouds more, that would bring some drama to the photo. I like the road through picture, I would like to of seen the curve of the road as a more integral part of the photo. |

Surreal Fallsby justin_hewlettComment: I like the composition of this photo. Blurred water shots are always alot of fun to do. I haven't had much luck with them myself, but I keep trying. I think the photo could use some more contrast or texture. The blurred water is good but something is needed in the cliff to set that off more. I agree with Jammur, use a slower shutter speed, more water blur is always good. |
