Country roadby marvinComment: *Critique Club*
"Country road" is a nice image in the Country Life challenge. I always like to glance at profiles and I can see that roads have worked very well for you, so I can defiantly see why you would choose a country road.
The image is very nice. The composition of this shot is excellent, you have filled the frame perfectly and left all the elements that make it feel complete. I personally am not a big fan of border but it does seem to fit the landscape image. I really think it is an overall good photograph, unfortunately I don't think it has the edge that allows it to stand out. I know someone had commented that the shot was moody, I almost get a soothing feel with the nice mellow colors and open space of the road. Good work. |

Labour of Loveby manic35Comment: *Critique Club*
"Labour of Love" is an excellent addition into the Country Life challenge. 21st place isn't too bad out but I thought it would end up higher, because it has such a natural and earthy feel to it.
The image itself despite the subject is extremely clean. Your background is a nice rich black allowing us to focus on the subject. The subject itself is prefect, probably what most people in the country would hope to achieve after their hard work. I think your placement of the tomatoes is excellent and great use of three. The few things I am really seeing the seems a little off is that upper right hand corners color which you saw from your comments of the photo. Also tThe focus seems a little soft when you really start looking at the tomatoes. I do love your work and hope to continue to see it. |

Ma and Pa Equineby hubbardr1Comment: *Critique Club*
" Ma and Pa Equine" is a prefect fit into the Country Life challenge. But I have to say wow 147th, really? I personally gave you an 8 but as usual voters think very differently.
The overall image is very pleasing. I like that you used two horses and that you left the barbwire in the shot. I also really like that you were able to have two very different colored horses to enhance the colors. There are only a few small things that I see in the shot itself. The left hand side seems a little over blown, maybe the sun was really bright. Also if at all possible I would have left the right hand horses ears in the shot, I am not sure if that would be possible and keep the frame as full as it is. I really do like your idea and implementation of it. |
