Wow looks like you are off to a good start, this being your first challenge you did a great job.
"Morning" is a good entry into Shallow DOF III because it is something different I am not a coffee or tea drinking so I would not thing of something like this. Interesting choice to go with black and white. I am guessing the colors would have been distracting and you choose to keep the image simple, which I think works well. I like the angle you are shooting at, we are not directly above or that straight on table shot. Just based on the comments you received it seems like the general voter population would have liked the whole cup in focus. I think it really is a challenge to determine which part stays in focus and ultimately it is up to us taking the photo.
Overall very nice work, especially for a first try! I really look forward to more of your photos.

Wow looks like you are off to a good start, this being your first challenge you did a great job.
"Peacock Strands" is a good entry into Shallow DOF III because it is something different, not the traditional flowers (which I am guilty of using). This image really does draw the viewer in because the colors are so vibrant. The colors look very true to what they actually are. I think voters may have had a harder time voting on this shot because the DOF is kind of hard to tell since it looks more like a repeating pattern. The focus and lighting look good and well composed.
Overall I think this was a great first entry and I can see your second did very well, so I really look forward to your future entries.

Blue Babyby justinbrookComment: *Critique Club*
"Blue Baby" is very cool concept for the Nude challenge.
I think that the idea is fabulous and what a wonderful girlfriend to model for you. I defiantly voted for you on this one for the creativity. I think to make the photo scores some what higher you might try and have the background tight. The subtle wrinkles and sag on the left hand side are kind of distracting. I like the way the lighting allows a soft shadow to be cast onto the background. The lighting is a great piece, the only thing I would say is to some take the shot without the glare off the guitar. I think I like the tint of the image it gives you something a little different from bright colors and black and white. I am surprised with the title you didn't want to give the shot a small blue tint, but then it might look too cold. Also you did a great job with the focus and composition.
Overall very nice job, keep up the good work!

Nude Beautyby TerminatorComment: *Critique Club*
"Nude Beauty" is a good entry into the Nude IV challenge, l like it because it is something different. I am really impressed how creative everyone was during this challenge.
I think it is very interesting that you commented that you had taken this shot at night. I am just wondering if maybe you stated that because you would have shot it differently during the day. I really like the shape that has been created in this shot, the lines draw you in towards the center. The focus looks like maybe you were focusing more on the elbows, I think even if you used a shallow depth of field and focus on the glass it might have drawn in more voters. I like the glow that was created by the light, it feels like it is the lines are moving us into the shot. The over framing of the subject is very good, it doesn't feel over cropped.
Nice work!

Flower Bathby Paul837Comment: *Critique Club*
"Flower Bath" is a good entry into the Nude IV challenge. I think you did a very good job at being creative and taking a different path from the norm.
Overall I think this is a very pleasing image, and I really love the flowers. The coloring of the flowers is bright but very mellow. Its amazing how unreal the flowers look, but the image still looks natural. I also think her eyes have a prefect glow and draw the viewer in. I can easily see the shot hanging in a bathroom. The editing that you did not great, I don't think the shot is over processed. It was interesting on some of the comments how this shot is too sweet, really makes you wonder about the world we are living.
I can see that you have only done a couple of challenges but you look like you have a great balance of creativity and photography skills. I really look forward to see what you produce in the future.

Vintageby Rino63Comment: *Critique Club*
Wow even before I looked at your title I said vintage to myself, excellent job capturing one word. I think it is a great talent to be able to create something that so clearly define on adjective.
This is a very striking piece and very well composed. I think people try so hard to come up all kids of crazy ideas when you were able to come up with a pretty simple concept and be the only one to shot something like this, and do a great job.
The lighting is prefect and does not create and harsh lines. Also the coloring is great I think you have found the prefect tint for this piece. Overall this is a very wonderful piece. I look forward to your future challenges.

I think this image is one that demands attention, whether voters like it or not you have to stop and look. I personally liked the image because it really grabbed my attention and it was differnt. Also after reading your comments I can't believe he is so tall!
This was an awesome idea and you did a wonderful job of capturing it. I think your depth of field was just right for me because if the image was to sharp I think it would have distracted from the lines that were created. Your lighting and color both look great. I also like the composition, if this were any other shot I probably like to have seen the top of his head but the cropping really works well here.
Overall this is an excellent piece, I am surprised it didn't score higher because you know as everyone was flipping through and voting this one had to grab their attention. Keep up the great work I look forward to your future entries!
