Sympathyby marvinComment: Hello from the Critique Club.
I think you chose a good concept for the greeting card challenge, but with a few adjustments this could be an even better photo.
For me, I think perhaps having the main focal point just a bit more off centered or even taken at a slightly different angle would help. A deeper angle would have put the sun higher, perhaps right behind Jesus' head and maybe given Him a halo type effect.
It seems just a bit flat, but with a bit more contrast and saturation - or even turning this into a black and white image it could really work.
This is an appealing sympathy image and again, a good concept. A few tweaks or different angle would greatly enhance the overall effect.
Keep up the good work. |

Friendship (humorous): Hugs and kisses...by redpandaComment: Hello from the critique club.
Your photo just pops right out at the viewer. Although I did have to do a double take to make sure I was seeing what you photographed. While it makes my stomach churn a bit it was a funny entry into the greeting card challenge.
Terrific, tight macro shot. Great colors and clarity. The lighting is good as well.
I don't know if you did any post-processing, so I'm not sure what, if any adjustments were made. Overall, a really good shot (though it still makes me squirm to look at it) :-)
Keep up the good work. |

Thinking of Youby jpetersComment: Greetings from the critque club.
I think you did well in choosing this subject for your greeting card entry. It immediately says what it means - no guessing or trying to figure out what point you are trying to make.
I like the choice of turning this into a black and white image. It fits with your subject matter. For me, some of the shadowed areas are a bit too dark and I would have liked to have seen it a bit more crisper all around and maybe even just a hint more contrast too.
I like the composition and the unobstrusive background sky. For me, this keeps the focus on your subject.
Overall, well done. I look forward to seeing more of your work. Thank you. |

Thinking of Youby pelfComment: Hello from the critique club.
The first thing that strikes me about this photo is the small size. Remeber that you are allowed a maximum of 640 pixels. Utilizing this size will give the viewer a better look at your photo.
You captured such wonderful colors in the sky and reflecting in the water. Good lighting as well.
My eyes stay focused on the rock in the center. Sometimes I find keeping the main focal point a bit more off center it adds interest for me. Also, consider perhaps rotating your horizon just a bit as it appears to be running downhill.
Overall, nicely done. Had this indeed been larger, I think it would have scored higher with the voters. You have a keen eye and I look forward to seeing more of your work. |

"Hi"by AzCKellyComment: Hello and greetings from the Critique Club. I think this was a very clever entry into the Greeting Card challenge. You have a good eye for seeing what others would just pass right by.
I like the simplicity of the colors - the solid blue sky (no clouds), the lush green of the trees and their trunk colors balance this all out nicely for me.
The lighting is good. Photo is very sharp and clear (what people like for when purchasing a card). One thing I would like to see perhaps is some kind of hairline border to nicely frame it all off. Perhaps in a dark green. Using the same shade from the trees to tie it all in.
Again, a truly clever spot on your part. Congratulations, and I would buy this as a blank note card. :-) |

Merry Go Roundby PriyenduComment: The best fair shot I've seen from the ones entered in this challenge. The wider angle gives more of the "from the ground up" feeling. Great sky too. 7 |

C'mooon Give Us a Kiss...by Faye PekasComment: Had this been a vertical with more of the long neck showing I would have given it a ten. Great capture on the face though. Excellent focus and lighting. 9 |

Vantage of "The Golf Course Gopher"by NstiG8trComment: The sky and club are a bit .... pixelated on my screen, but I like your take on the challenge. I can almost hear Billy Murray in the background coming after me. LOL. (Nice ad for Nike too). 7 |

553.33 Metres Upby StrikeslipComment: Nice framing and good "from the ground up" in my opinion. The sky is terrific and complementing orange flowers frame it all so well. 9 |
