That was taken near a bird feeder. The one on the left apparently didn't like the presence of the other bird so it kept getting upset and made it fly away. I noticed the bird kept trying to get to the food so I grabbed the camera. I would have liked to have gotten both in the shot but I had trouble just getting a good enough focus.

I love the composition and the tension it creates. The pier and the clouds look larger than life making the beacon in the distance quite vulnerable. Nicely done.

I like how the shapes go from the simple to the complex, but taken as a whole it's still simple in design. Makes me think about the spark of life and how it is like the child. Gets my YankO Green. Good luck!

I don't think the background or the lighting hurt you as both are more than fine. The problem I had with it is it's a statue. You need to do more than just light it well to make it a compelling subject. The composition and POV isn't doing you any favors either. As a product shot in a catelog it's perfect but beyond that it doesn't do anything else to excite the senses.

Irene Fun Fact #1 (and yanko is very jealous of this. :P):

- Not only is Irene very good but she sure can pick em! When she scores 6.5 or higher she has won a ribbon 40% of the time! That's either very high or my percentage is low (i.e. 18%).
