I like that the hands are unusually bright. It helps to emphasize, bring attention to, the aperture concept.

Good lighting. The point of focus is squarely with his eyes, which makes it feel more like a portrait shot than a study on body form. Not that it matters in the context of this challenge. Just an observation.

No. Just one shot which was underexposed in Lightroom and then further tweaked in Photoshop (toning, noise, etc).

Yeah. The arrow is there to tell you where to pull over. It's actually a house that was carved into the rock which is viewable on the other side of it. You can view images of that here (not mine).
