Most definitely not. Kinda looks like dreadlocks to me. :P This photo screams unrelatedness so congrats there. The technicals are ok but lacks anything special or unique.

Good image. The lighting on the flower is a little flat for my tastes. I like the angle of the light so maybe just think about burning the petals a bit to give it more depth and shape?

Yeah that would be nice. Great concept you got here although money growing on trees would have a quicker impact with the voters, IMO and since voters probably spend no more than a few seconds on each photo a quicker impact helps.

I think this was your biggest problem. I didn't vote in this challenge or entered but had I entered I would have tried to make purple very prominent. Subtle just doesn't go well when it's in regards to meeting the challenge theme. Others seem to hit on some other points which I think are valid but DNMC was your biggest issue, IMO even though there is purple in the shot.
