Great idea and good execution. The post processing or lack there of holds this back a bit, IMO. I'd suggest sharpening it some more as well as boosting the overal contrast and local contast. I'd also suggest dodging and burning a bit particularly the edges which are already vignette-like. That would help drive the focus more towards the guy's face. Anyway, just thoughts. Good luck!

Returning for comments. This is a cool shot. The lighting is both a postive and a negative here. I love the backlighting but the highlights in some places is a bit too extreme. Wouldn't matter normally but since this is a setup shot with controlled lighting it's a deduction. However, it still gets a 7 from me. I'd say good luck but I predict you will ribbon here.
