hood poppedby undieyatchComment: Nice and sharp but the composition feels a little awkward with the headlights cropped like that. |

Never get enoughby kkzoliComment: Simple is good but your technicals, namely your exposure (too underexposed) and composition (too static) held you back. One thing that might have given this more energy is a diagonal composition. For example. have the arm enter the top left corner and extend towards the bottom right corner and frame it portrait style. In other words, the hand would be extending towards the viewer rather than away. The diagonal composition would elongate the arm and enhance the "giving/receiving" aspect to the shot. If you brought the camera down a bit you could then give it a shallow DOF by shooting with a wide aperture to create a focal point for the eyes to gravitate to. |

Old Fasionby kwiktorComment: I like the movement and the nostalgic feel of the photograph. |

Friday Night Specialby TammerComment: Nice sharp image. The main thing holding this back is the composition. It's just not engaging enough at this angle. Perhaps a slightly raised view with a diagonal composition might generate some leading lines to guide the eye. |

Can't eat just one!by lotalawtonsComment: Strong focus on the popcorn but it's a bit too static and ordinary. Perhaps shooting from underneath the popcorn, say under a glass table and showing a hand reaching for it would have upped the wow factor. Also, watch your exposure. The highlights are a bit too bright. I might try diffusing the light more so it's not so harsh. |

Getting Ready For A Movieby theyetifanclubComment: Good use of DOF here. You probably would have been better off cropping the top off. Blown out backgrounds can work but here it created some odd artifacts, which detract from the shot, IMO. |

Popcorn originsby ksnymanComment: I like that you focused on the texture with this close up. However, the lighting needs some work to bring out those textures more. Try using a light source that you can place at a 45 degree angle of the subject so you can get some shadows going, which is what makes the little lines and crevices in the texture stand out. Since this subject is small you may need to make your light source smaller as well perhaps creating a snoot (a long tube in front of the light) to narrow the beam. Anyway, just an idea. Good luck! |
