She really has a strong presence in this shot. Very confident. Although his body feels a little stiff I like his expression better in this one even though it's very similar to the other shot. Probably has to do with the direction he's looking. It just has a bolder feel to it.

Edited for clarity.

I like her expression. It's doesn't look fake. However, I'm a bit let down by the guy's expression though. I think it's because he isn't looking at the camera or at her so it makes him look disinterested.

The face in the mag takes on a life of it's own. Very odd in a good way.

Clean lines. Good lighting. Just needs a new twist to make it your own.

Interesting twist to the shot. Not a bad effort. You just need to polish it up a bit.

For starters don't light it from above or in the front that causes those reflections that are not appealling. Instead find a way to light it from the back, bounce the light if you have to, narrow the beam if you're getting some light spilling in the front and causing reflections.

What makes this concept in particular appealing is the clean lines that you normally see in these shots. Your line is not straight. That's harder to do if you have the paper running under the glass so you may want to not do that.

Lastly, it could use a better title. For example, something like "Limon" (fusion of the two) might have gotten you some extra points.

Anyway, just some thoughts. Good luck!

I can't fault anything about it except that the idea is very old and you didn't add anything to the concept other than to reshoot it and in that you did very well. The lighting is exquisite.

Nice shot. The lighting is great. I'm curious about the distort if it would look better corrected or not.

Very nice light and tones in this photo. I'm surprised this got that many 3s but looking at the rest of the vote distribution it has a classic bell curve to it, which at DPC usually means "good shot" but lack wow factor. You almost have it here in the light and in the tones but a couple of things let you down. First the color, I understand the green connection with 7up but it doesn't help to convey coldness very well and since you're not shooting for that company but rather people who just want to see coldness a blue color would have been better. The other thing is there is a total lack of energy in the photo. When you look at beverage ads they almost always have movement, water splashes or at the very least drops of water on the can. That helps make the product more appealing and I think voters have come to expect that in these types of shots. Had you done that those 5 votes would have been 6s, 7s and 8s and you'd be seeing a much different score.

I can't find a thing I would do different. The tones are flawless. What preset did you use?
