Jetby cryingdragonComment: This suffers from what I see a fair amount in abstracts. It wants to be an abstract, but it still provides context of "what it is". In trying to provide both it suffers. I would either crop much closer to the vortex or crop more traditionally (not so centered) and make it less abstract. The color is pleasing, although I'm not sure if the selective desat works. |

Jelly-Fishby RoosterComment: The strongest thing going for this shot is the composition with the pleasing line of jellies from upper left to lower right. The hint of background is excellent and I like the fade to absolute black. I loooove sharpness so I would ask for a tiny bit more here. Either your DOF or your lens left you lacking a bit in the mass of upper right. The border, BTW, looks wrong. You have an extra pixel on the right at lower sides. It is, however, a nice complementary color for the image. Artistically, the composition gives it the nice flowing feel which is what I would think you want with a shot of jellyfish. |

Power of expression by tmphComment: Ahh, another gem in this challenge. The crop is MOST excellent for the guts in breaking the rules. It tells me you know what you are doing and know when breaking rules works to good effect. The conversion to duotone is very well done. I fully expect this shot to come from someone with other ribbons. 9, could be the first 10 later. |

Simplest pleasure by the side of Roadby balmikiComment: Shots like this are interesting. I just can't bring myself to feel that the subjects are considering what they are doing a "simple pleasure" if you asked them. It seems they are more caught in a struggle for survival. My 4 reflects this instead of the quality of the shot. |

Resting in The Wordby Delta_6Comment: "When your words came, I ate them; they were my joy and my heart's delight."
Don't let the low score get you down. The composition is a bit lacking here and the lighting is somewhat harsh. |

A pleasant child's smileby JucaComment: I wish the sharpest point on the picture was his eyes and not his fingers. The camera picked poorly on the AF. Great expression though and nice composition/crop. 7 |
