A Celebration of Lifeby jerseyjimComment: Technicals: lighting is quite harsh. Composition is a bit cluttered with the extra colored elements in the background.
Feel: an interesting capture of death.

A slow lonely deathby sickdogComment: Technicals: very soft. Conversion to B&W is below average. There needs to be more contrast and the exposure is probably overexposed overall.
Feel: Does capture the isolation of the homeless well. The backs of the passers-by helps with that. Death? Not without the title.

Despairby NstiG8trComment: Technicals: lighting is decent, conversion isn't bad, contrast is ok. All those are probably a bit above average.
Feel: Tough challenge. This is going to get some reactions and people may vote low due to those reactions. I feel like it lacks a bit of context. Sure the guy is getting ready to kill himself, but I don't have any sense at all as to why. That's the trick to a superior picture.

Studying Life on Dead Specimen...by gipomontesantoComment: Technicals: That blur at the head is mucho distracting. I'm not sure what it's from. Composition is not bad. Coloring lacks much and so would think about this in a B&W with a lot of contrast.
Feel: Well, it's dead, eh? Meets the challenge, but doesn't exceed my expectations.

As Fall Fadesby ElaineComment: Technicals: Composition works, focus is sharp. Color/contrast lack a bit of punch. There seems to be a bit of a color cast.
Feel: Simple, somewhat elegant (as much as dead flowers could be). I feel like it lacks a bit of something, but I'm not sure what.

Been So Unkind Without a Hintby jenesisComment: Technicals: Nice composition. The DOF works well. The WB is a bit off in my eyes. Or maybe I'm looking for a different cast to be added. Lighting works.
The Feel: Does feel like Death although the title is a bit on the head-scratching side. I know what you are going for, but it seems there is a more eloquent way to put it.

GAME OVERby hannekeComment: Technicals: The lighting bothers me somehow. I see you are going for contrasty with the face (and that's good), but somehow it doesn't jive with the very low contrast of the background. Maybe that's a small nitpick.
The Feel: The blood looks a bit on the "staged" side, but I do like the slightly androgynous feel of the model and outfit.

Natural Causesby scottieprecordComment: Technicals: The WB seems a bit on the blue side. Composition is not bad, although I'm really having trouble with the subject being so small and unidentifiable.
Feel: As mentioned above, I'm not catching the idea of death because whatever is dead, that thing on top, is so small. I'm not even sure what it is and if I didn't know this was a "death" challenge wouldn't be thinking death at all.

One Way Streetby geoffbarhamComment: Technicals: decent conversion to B&W, I would have liked a bit more punch, but perhaps the softer background brings the sign out more. composition is good. I'd like to see it with a horizontal crop.
Feel: nicely provoking.

red handedby tiby_dicuComment: Technicals: soft focus. composition is decent. Contrast probably works with such a harsh subject.
The feel: I'm not quite sure what is being accomplished here. It looks like he's just pointing at the dog. I'm guessing from the title we are to suspect he "did it", but I'm not getting that feel.
