It is probable the heavy HDR effect has improved this image but it doesn̢۪t quite work for me. I feel this would have worked better without so much detail available in the shadows as it lacks depth. My eye gets drawn to the out-of-focus foreground as it is as bright, if not brighter than the areas I should be focusing on. 4. It is quite a nice location and the composition is good. The birds are a nice inclusion too. 4.

Using my imagination I see the platforms as the Martian tripods. I̢۪m not sure if that is what you were trying to represent that is not so important as I̢۪ll vote on what I see. I̢۪m also not sure if the transition of colours is your doing or it is natural but I also relate this back to the book with the transition of earth green to the Martian red weed. I like what you made me see. 7.

Now that is one of the more literal book title representations I̢۪ve seen. I like the way you have produced this image. The vignetting works well and I̢۪m glad you left in the colour. 7.

A wonderful image to represent the book. The dark treatment of the sky and the agricultural foreground transfer what should be a happy place to something quite sinister. 8.

Very nicely done. The image is appealing and well processed. It is also the first entry I've come across that I knew what the book would be before seeing your title. 8

A powerful and beautiful image. The lighting is wonderful and processing is great. Though there seams to be some haloing around the back of the building, I quite like the processing. 7

I have not read these books but after a bit of research I think I will need to. I rather like this image. Wonderful soft colours yet a powerful still life image. 8.

I have to admit I̢۪m finding it difficult to make the connection with this picture of a building with the novel. I haven̢۪t read this book but I have now read some reviews on line. There isn̢۪t a lot of emotion for me from this image. However, I guess architectural photos aren̢۪t meant to create emotion. I do like the colours, perspective and deep DoF though. 4.
