Gas Fumesby MJENNIComment: yes, gasoline has a strong smell, but a picture of an old gasoline pump does not express smell in a strong way to me. If I would not have the context of the challenge or the title I would not have guessed it was about scent, I would have thought it was about old equipment. T express the smell I would suggest a picture of a gasoline pistol filling a car, maybe someones nose close to it, something like that. |

Cool Persuasionby vrphotosComment: Yes it has a cool atmosphere, as your title suggest. I like the sparcles of light and the water on the mirror. I think the water plays and important role and therefore should have been totally sharp, also at the top. The reflection of the bottle shows a number of vertical lines, whereas the bootle itself shows hardly any structure. A different angle of light might have brought that more in balance. Without the full reflection it would also have been a strong image. |

Perfume: Makes' beady perfectby birgirComment: A gorgeous bottle, in nice soft surroundings. I think the light is a bit flat, try experimenting with some side or backlight, to add some more depth. |

Oh la la! Scent-sational Satsuma Perfume Oil!by ScantyNebulaComment: I like the limited number of colors, the simplicity. Also I like the shallow depth of field and the focus on the top of the bottle, it makes it special (you probably get a lot of complaints about it). Only disturbing are the darker streaks (caused by refractions?) in the bottle, is it caused by the label, or is the environment not shielded of for example by a white sheet ? |

Scent of Corianderby BBBastetComment: Lovely color, composition and clarity. Also I like the color in the shadows. Gorgeous image. To me it expresses more aroma in the sense of flavour, not so much scent. |

Scented sentimentsby drydocComment: A beautiful collection of objects, high class, nicely arranged. Suggesting a subtle smell of perfume on paper. Nice soft light as well. I am not so sure about the desk lamp on the left, it adds depth but also is disturbing. I think I would have chosen an view more from the right, but then it might be difficult to include the full lenght of the feather. |

mexican restaurantby MiahComment: What did the romans say ? Pecunia non olet, money does not stink. Is that why you photographed the money and not the mexican food ? Image could have been stronger by some more cropping, e.g. removing the bottle, concentrating more of the man counting his money. |

Dog and Footby SMW409Comment: Very harsh light, parts of the dog hardly recognisable., not even an eye visible. Does not express scent to me very well. |

My Favorite Scentby EmerauldeComment: You could use this for the soft focus challenge as well. Very good idea, an important smell in everyday life. I like the soft effect, keeps it a bit more distant from the actual person and emphasises more the experience/smell. Her expression is good as well, really taking in the smell. |
