Ol' Blue Eyeby samtrundleComment: I gave this a 7. Excellent reading/insight of your comments. You now have a very good portrait of your grandfather. If it took a 'photo challenge competition' to get it, so be it, either way, it is now 'captured'. You have something special here that no words can explain. |

Pink heart bruisedby elee3009Comment: '3/4' - maybe, the quality is not there. I see the idea/concept, but the 'blur', etc takes too much from this. The 'grill' perhaps has potential, but overall this shot has a 'harsh' feel to it in my opinion, especially given your subject, which to be honest I did not 'note' until I read your title/comments re the rose petals. |

crystalsby elee3009Comment: '6' maybe, likely would have commented about symmetry, the wide framing not 'enhancing' at this size etc. Gave the 'real entry' a 7. Think you made the right choice, unless you could have perfected this one - but two very different shots/choice. |

corinthianbefore.jpgby lynnesiteComment: As much as I liked what you did in post processing with this shot for your entry, creating an almost 'watercolor' type of effect and feel, I think the 'query' raised in that thread may be valid after seeing this original. Great shot that even with the fence retained, and similar post processing/cropping as your entry, still likely have achieved another great shot with this. edit: You are right regarding the way you cropped it tight on the left, etc. It may be a case of 'define major element', but it is not my call either way so doesn't matter. I only commented because you posted an out-take (for comment I presumed) and I liked the shot/capture (your entry primarily but this too) and the final result you attained, but also because of the query that was raised - good luck, if indeed you need it at all, who knows. Stonewall Farm 2by MarjoComment: Wow. Nice. Some details in your comments like 'age' would be good. Slightly different crop, etc too make this even better. Good 'capture' though. edit: given the shot, wondered if it was just 'a day old' etc, so thank you for including those details Message edited by author 2005-12-08 21:01:35. |

Silly Catby MarjoComment: Good capture. Like the whiskers contrasting against the fence. A tighter crop perhaps (quality dependent), seeing as some of the tail is already 'gone'. Nice simple background. |
