Criticism; nice and simple, colors are nice, especially the green, which is more subtle, including the shape and resulting reflections etc. The 'effect' is nice, but again, although I can decipher what appears to be a full spectrum, just seems a bit harsh, not sure. Although shots like this usually have a lot of softening/blur - if this had at least the edges, especially bottom left 'softer' would likely have given this an overall better 'feel' and made it better in my opinion. | Photographer found comment helpful. |

Criticism; don't mind the rotation (your call obviously), but given the composition, includiing reflections/refractions, I wonder if a more 'symmetrical' and horizontal/vertical framing would have worked better. Good use of marbles, like to see a little more detail in them (candlelight effect mostly), including the reflections/refractions on the 'surface/base', 'using' them even more. The choice of a glossy 'wood grain' base 'works' but wonder if a more 'neutral', or just less glossy surface may have been better - but then you may have lost some of those effects so who knows. A little grainy in the top areas. Overall if the candle were more subtle (difficult I know) and the 'effect(s)' more dominant, would have made this better in my opinion. | Photographer found comment helpful. |

Even 'sharper' on the head/beak make this even better - likely camera/lens dependent - perhaps some was lost with pp, or just this size, who knows. | Photographer found comment helpful. |

Beautiful creatures, and this shot captures that the best out of all your shots, especially given the environment. It is obviously blurry, the background, black/contrast/gamma issues, etc, but you know all that. Potential perhaps with pp but you may have only put these in your portfolio for 'show' and not so much comments/criticism, who knows. edit:CRW_0183 copy is a fairly good 'wolf character capture' too ('hand of man'/leash aside of course) Message edited by author 2005-12-11 19:46:38. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 12/11/2005 07:35:30 PM | CRW_0199 copy web.jpgby ButterflySisComment: Nice macro and colors. Perhaps a slightly different crop on the right may have made this even better, not sure. Of course the 'copyright' being smack in the middle detracts but - I guess that's the idea. | Photographer found comment helpful. |

'If only' it were nice and sharp, again, trying to 'somehow' gain more space between the icicles and the water, but difficult. Perhaps a slightly different angle/perspective may have helped attain this, depending on access of course. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 12/11/2005 07:31:33 PM | CRW_0337 copy web.jpgby ButterflySisComment: Nice capture and angle. If the angle/perspective were even sharper (ground 'up'), and 'somehow' a bit more 'depth' attained between the 'ice sculpture' and the waterfall/river/etc(?) flowing behind it, would have made this even better in my opinion. Nice colors. 'If only' it were a little sharper on the 'sculpture'. | Photographer found comment helpful. |

| 12/11/2005 07:14:06 PM | seal-pup3.jpgby FalcComment: Good shot and good capture. Apologies if wrong, but seems needs a slight nudge rotation up on the left, but difficult to tell. The sheen on the coat/fur is good, especially given likely contrast/lighting issues. Nice sharp whiskers, especially against the blue/water background. |

Oh, just noticed the squirrel's tail, depending what you had to work with, perhaps a slight nudge rotation up on the left, and 'somehow' enhancing that tail more (as the squirrel is the main character here in my opinion), may have made this even better. Perhaps the color version (assuming you had one) helps bring out both characters, who knows, but the toning here is nice too. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
