Eyelessby MacDonaldComment: I gave this a 6. Thought it was an interesting abstract and the texture captured quite well. Difficult, but the texture definition even sharper, would have made this better (for this Challenge) in my opinion. After reading your comments, seems a good eye to spot this - I still can't quite work out 'which way is up'/the context etc. |

Butterfly on thorn2.jpgby XileboComment: Wow. Nice capture - also of the 'contrasting subjects'. edit to add: 'if only' both 'popped' more against the background, fairly minor (and obviously natural anyway), but maybe softening in pp, or selective desaturation, tweaking of the colors, who knows. The Roman Army 3.jpgby XileboComment: Fairly good capture. If you could include a 'story'/some background in your Photographer's Comments would be good - will check back 'later'. |

"Reflection From The Past"by f-Stop1Comment: Haven't read the other comments (yet), but I gave this a 5. Thought the creativity was quite good and the use of the chrome reflection good as well. The main detractors in my opinion are: the 'rest' of the reflection takes the 'eye' away from the concept, the reflection is a little too 'haphazard' (but difficult to control) and the composition and cropping, if were more finely tuned, would also have made this better - again, my opinion. Also, whilst the concept of the 'VW'/bug is fairly good, the subject remains just that, and therefore may not hold some viewers' interest/attention. Perhaps a really sharp angle/perspective, more clarity/varied focus/focal point, may have also given this a little extra. Lastly (and I am not necessarily in the majority on this 'thinking'), but for the particular Challenge at hand (whatever it may be), the shot has to 'say' (sometimes 'scream') Chrome (or whatever) primarily, or otherwise 'make the shot' (hard to explain, but the shot would otherwise not be as strong without it, ie: the winning shot) in my opinion. This does not necessarily do that as strongly as incorporating some of the suggestions above may have. edit:removed 'TN'Message edited by author 2006-04-20 17:25:37. |

Mafia 2.jpgby XileboComment: Good capture. Perhaps a little more space at the bottom and less at the top, but depends what you had to work with, obviously, may have made this even better - just my opinion. |

Obie on the right.jpgby XileboComment: Nice composition. Can't help wonder about the color version, especially for the cat's eyes. 'If only' a fraction more space under the good tail shadow - but you likely know that. |

Cactus.jpgby XileboComment: Nice shot (and flowers) and composition. What a 'show' from such a (relatively) small plant. |

Chicken Portraitby joycobbComment: Nice capture, especially of the eye/head. Looks like fairly good control of the whites, especially given the contrast/range. Perhaps a more finely tuned crop, especially on the right (even if it took this to a quite 'elongated' type frame) may give this a little extra, in my opinion. |

Death on Yellowby DalantechComment: Nice capture. Again, (my opinion), a slight variation in the composition and possibly a nudge rotate up on the right, may have given this a little extra in my opinion. Also, unless I'm mistaken (and it could just be fluff/something), but the little tiny 'white somethings' behind, might be spiderlings. |

Bee Ka Booby DalantechComment: Nice capture, especially of the antennae. Perhaps a tighter crop, even going for something square framed, may have given this a little extra and 'showcased' your 'bee ka boo' even more. |
