Macro Budsby BalkoComment: I captured some similar plants on my walkabout, but they didn't make the final cut. Love the creamy bokeh in the background, and the detail on the plant itself is exquisite. |

Elm Leavesby BalkoComment: I have never beheld such a scrumptious explosion of colors! Truly well captured and something to be proud of. |

Good Use for Tamron Lensesby jaxterComment: Actually only the furthest two lenses are Tamron glass. The first in line is my Canon 50mm, and the second is the wife's ( photomouse) Sigma 28-135mm. Tamron is not my favorite lens maker, but the title was just in pun. I was hoping that the uniqueness of my shot (aswirl in a pool of flower shots) might counteract the lack of flair, but oh well. I am still very pleased with the shot. I think I am really starting to grow as a photographer, and this site has had a lot to do with that. I thank all of you who commented and voted on my image. (Of course I think you 2 voters might want to seek out a good optometrist.) |

Ethereal by rio78Comment: KNEW I'd see at least one smoke shot in this challenge. You have captured it well however and in such a way that it almost seems alive. Near flawless technical aspects... 9 |

black plant shadowby vkotisComment: I love the color in this shot, but then blue IS my favorite color. I am voting this image a 5. Here is what you could have done differently to have scored higher with me: 1) Make it the full 640 pixels on at least one side. Saves the voter from craning his/her neck to look it over. 2) It's a bit noisy around the light. Did you use Neat Image? They have a demo version that's free and works wonders for DPC entries. You also might have gotten better results by diffusing the light a bit. 3) The "cut corners are a bit distracting. Looks like vignetting to me. If you can't get rid of it with your lens, try shooting from further back and then cropping it out. |

Green Gazeby ryandComment: Well done. Very nice and even lighting. Color really pops out at ya. Only thing I would say you could have done differently would be to touch up the reflections in the eye. Takes away from the photo imho. |
