This is one of the best entries I've seen so far!
Everything about it is good, except maybe that it could have been ever-so-slightly straightened out to have level top and bottom lines.
Otherwise, top marks from me!

This photo feels flat to me in terms of colour.
Also, I think it may have benefitted from a tighter crop focusing solely on the two middle birds, with less sand and less sky.

The colour gradation is smooth throughout, which shows that this photo has not been over-processed (a common digital post-processing fault)
The tight crop doesn't sit well with me though, and the spread and variation of colour prevents this image from communicating anything concrete to me.
A bit later with a full red sky, or a bit earlier with a full blue sky may have carried over a comprehensive message.
