Stairs? Shutters? WHO KNOWSby jmleliiComment: You've got a good amount of detail in this image. However, it is the same details that cause me problems in the illusion. The Center is the place of importance pyschologically. The flawed paint is jarring in the center because it is not really that important. The shadows do give the illusion of stairs to a certain degree. My favorite part is the shifting vantage point that causes the shutters to appear to change angles. Overall, a strong graphic image with even more potential. 6 |

The Masksby idnicComment: You've obviously put in alot of effort into this shot. The makeup, expression and technical qualities of the faces is very strong. The composition doesn't work well, however, as the "masks" are too far apart with too much negative space. This shot would have worked much better if the framed were filled with the masks. 4 |

ignore the background...concentrate on the agonyby TruegshtComment: The illusion of a contortionist (sp) is off because of the size of feet in proportion to the body - it shows up as a child's on an adult. The quality of the image is that of a snapshot vs. a photograph. The idea is unique and well worth developing further. 2 |

The Closet.jpgby dustin03Comment: It's a wonderful piece. It tugs at my emotions. I see a very different metaphor that many others - a life lived with joys and many tears - shown through the worn paint and grime. I see a coming to grip with the past mistakes and a baring of the soul - the light shining in and bringing a hope and honesty to the life. The closet comes through as that last closed place in the heart of regrets/mistakes. It stands ready to be opened - cleaned out and brought to light. In religous terms, I see a metaphor of a repentance in process - a life lived with mistake, hard knocks and a coming forth of honesty. |

Inflamedby ace flymanComment: The lighting on the face really works. I'm not as positive about the expression. The overall composition is well done. 5 |

the uninspired DPCer...by aplomb76Comment: Don't put down the idea in your title. It can still be done well. However in this case the lighting could be improved. 4 |

Strange Brewby BaldurTComment: Beautiful color. The lighting effect works well in this image. The goblet outline does seem soft. 5 |

the magic carpetby U622Comment: The illusion is strong. I am not a fan of the pose, however. I also find the highlights on the left distracting. 5 |
