Sitting with Godby eos5dComment: Nice photo. I would have liked it a bit more, if you could have gotten the bench at an angle where the trees (shrubs?) in the distance hadn't blended in with the bench. Normally I am not a fan of blown out highlights, but it really works here. Gives your image a painterly effect. |

Can you guess what it is yet?by kingskingdomComment: I'm not a hundred percent sure this is a true macro. Looks like some sort of mechanical timer, or possibly a bank of potentiometers for adjusting some sort of electronic circuit. (Possibly color projection? As I see red green and yellow; is that the key?) However, this is a very good image. Focus is nice and sharp, colors are vivid, detail is held in the darker areas, highlights are not blown out. Whatever this is, it is a very interesting image and would do well as wall art in a buisness place. |

Autumn Heliumby timfythetooComment: I think I see a ribbon winner here... Or at least it should be. Very nice composition. Lighting is excellent. Excellent control on your depth of field as well. |

A small bit of lead is all you need to make a point.by glad2badadComment: Not sure how the anti gun crowd will vote on this... But a very nice image. I like that you lit the image from the side, rather than head on. The bullets are nice and razor sharp. The rifle is soft enough not to compete, but clear enough to identify. Very nice work. As the owner of an early Model 94 Winchester, I also enjoyed this on yet another level. Good luck in the challenge. |

Smoke Dancerby judojoeComment: After reading your post about this image, I decided to take a look.
Even after knowing what to look for, the smoke is hard to see on this monitor. (I'll check on my calibrated monitor later this evening.) How the image comes across, is that the background has been painted a pale color.
Unfortunately many challenge voters are litteralists. If they don't see obvious smoke, then the image gets a poor grade. Should you be fifth from last? Probably not. But it happens... |

Last Train to Clarksville... by NikonJebComment: This might very well be the blue ribbon winner this week. I like the lighting, the color tones, and the way you used symetrical repetion to guide the eye. Fantastic depth of field, and the image is ultra-sharp, without looking over processeed. Excellent work! |

Once our home, now abandonedby IreneMComment: Interesting take on the challenge. I wish there was a bit more depth of field here, so that the full frame would be in sharp focus.
However, I think you did a great job of capturing most of the detail on the frame, and the film strip really pops against the nice velvety black background. Very nice work! |
