On their wayby jjbeguinComment: This shot meets the challenge but just seems too busy for me. I'm having a hard time trying to focus on a main subject. I think it would have been better to omit the railing in the foreground and go after the walkers in the back for your subjects. 4 from me, sorry. |

cheers... to myself.by saintaugustComment: Well thought and executed shot. Wish there were more detail in your hand, and seems to be a bit blown out on the wine label. I do love the crispness of the bottle I give this a 6. |

Scarf Portrait No.3by melismaticaComment: Hmm..not my fave out of the four. I guess I'm diggin the b/w studies a lot. I want to see more detail in your eyes and the shadows are pretty harsh on the left side of your face. I'm thinking that the crop is too tight as well, more negative space above your head would give this shot more appeal, IMHO.
Still wonderful work on the set, keep it up!

Scarf Portrait No.2by melismaticaComment: I think you have some interesting shapes working well for you here with the scarf. This shot seems a tad blurred to me. Did you use any sharpening in your post processing? If not I think that it would help this shot out tremendously.
Edit to add:
I also like your choice of crop with this one. The use of negative space on the right really works for me. Message edited by author 2006-06-09 14:45:51. |

Scarf Portrait No.1by melismaticaComment: Again a wonderful portrait but same as "Mod" just a bit of curves / brightness / contrast and you're in business. I like the sideways glance rather than the straight a head look. I'm also wondering if cropping the top down just a bit to keep focus on your eyes might help?

Modby melismaticaComment: Love this, very emotive. I might suggest to play with curves / brightness contrast just a small amount to get just a bit more punch out of this. Love your expression and the fact that this is just you, no fancy bells and whistles. Beautiful work. |
