Your idea is wonderful and I'm sure this is an emotionally important photograph to you, but let me tell you how I think this could be better.

First when you shoot this type of shot less is more. By that I mean we need to simplify the shot as much as possible. I think we could have improved this more by losing the distracting background and shooting this against a neutral backdrop like black, white or even gray.

Second, we have way too many fingers competing for attention here. I would suggest only two hands the adult hand cradling the younger one would add a ton of beautiful emotion to this shot. You could shoot it from many different angels and not go wrong.

Finally, the lighting is really harsh on the right side of the frame. Toning that down by defusing it would really help out.

I really like your composition here and lighting. My only suggestion would be to have stopped down a full stop or two to get the whole pepper in focus. Other than that nice work!

Very nice setup here. I like the back lighting you've used here my only one suggestion would have been to bounce just a little bit into the center of the flower to light up. Nothing to knock points off for. Well done.

Beautiful work, I like your choice of DOF and ISO, it really gives me a feeling of looking back in time. Wonderful tones as well this REALLY works as a b/w shot, color just wouldn't cut it, great decision to go with b/w.
