Just this week my Mom and I were discussing things I remembered about my Great Grandmother and our visits to her and my Great Grandfather's farm in Oklahoma. I remember late
night talks about tornadoes and copperheads overheard from the porch where all us littles one were supposed to be sleeping. The seemingly gigantic clawfoot tub...to my little eyes it was big as a pool and just as fun...humongous red ant hills just waiting for firecrackers of doom. And that creaky bridge over the Cimarron...I don't know what was worse, the rickety bridge or the rusty red water beneath lush with swirling whirlpools.

I could go on and on. But one thing stands so clearly in my mind...my Great Grandmother and her Brownie camera. I was intrigued! What sort of camera is this that isn't held to the eye? It never seemed to be far from her side. As we sat there recalling these bits of time, my Mom could hardly believe I could remember so much seeing that I was only a toddler when much of this happened.

I now have albums full of her images, some I will get around to sharing here...she had a marvelous way of seeing.

My Great Grandmother is gone now, but I had here daughter, my Grandmother who's 84 pose for this image...more saved bits of time, more recollections...gather 'round the Brownie everyone...

Absolutely fabulous. And thanks ever so much for sharing the story, too. What a wonderful woman she must have been! I see her in you from your words. And how sweet to have your grandmother pose for the shot. Simply wonderful.
